We are building out the product design team that will focus on building the interfaces and design system for car shopping, research, and personalization features for our brands across the unique suite of CMS tools and services at Hearst Magazines. This is an opportunity to build amazing and powerful products from the ground up.
Your Impact:
Hearst Autos is looking for a Senior Product Designer experienced in creating meaningful solutions, working within/evolving a design system, and collaborating with product and engineering teams. You will report to the Creative Director and be an integral member of the team throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will utilize your excitement about personalization and the future direction of ML and AI.
Responsibilities:
- Influence the shape of our products with research and data while executing designs using high-quality wireframes, user journeys, interactive prototypes, and usable styles and markup.
- Be active in every phase of the process from initial discovery and user research to testing and final design/production.
- Clearly convey design decisions while reinforcing brand guidelines and design direction. Your deep understanding of goals and pain points will help us build efficient and delightful solutions for our users.
- Evaluate design opportunities through UX research and user testing/analytics data
- Build relationships with team members across disciplines
- Design flows and experiences that simplify complex interactions into usable interfaces
- Advocate making our interfaces user-centered and accessible to people with disabilities and complete our accessibility training program.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience designing, building, and shipping web or mobile consumer products. Experience with two-sided marketplaces is even better.
- Portfolio of design work showcasing your design approach, learnings, and skills
- Highly proficient with design and prototyping tools, like Figma, etc.
- Experience working with and evolving a design system
- Ability to think big and understand complex feature sets
- Familiarity with CSS and JSON preferred
- A commitment to user research and testing, accessibility, and inclusive design
- Passionate about creating diverse and inclusive products
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (Section 508 Refresh/WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA)-and/or an interest to learn more

The base salary for this role is between $129,000 - $150,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This role is fully remote and open to those living in the following states: AL, CA, CO, FL, IA, IL, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, SC, TN, TX, VA
