Senior Product Designer - International

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Job Description
Square is operated by an incredible team that is on a mission to make commerce easy for all types of businesses around the world. As a Product Designer on the International and Partnerships team, you'll oversee design decisions that directly influence the global product strategy and roadmap. Your work will span from core features to experimental projects. We believe in T-shaped individuals who have a hand in each stage of product development and go deep in a given area. You'll report to the Design Lead for International and Partnerships.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with other designers, engineers, product managers, analysts, and other team members to ensure that our product provides a remarkable, delightful experience that is best-in-class for any given country.

You will:

• Work with your in-market partners to build best-in-market products.
• Work very collaboratively with partners across Square to ensure that the customer journey across all products is always honored and prioritized.
• Hold the highest standards for design for Sellers.
• Define Square product strategy for Wave 2 markets, that is cohesive with Square's overall global strategy/direction, and improve our customers' experience using a variety of inputs, and articulate rationale and data behind decisions
• Understand our customers and their needs, and guide our world-class team to ship remarkable solutions
• Identify opportunities for Square and our customers, propose and evaluate initiatives that will be most impactful, promote them across the organization, and implement these initiatives from ideation through release
• Openly collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners throughout Square
• In collaboration with engineering, marketing, and analytics partners, lead the end-to-end success of projects from discovery to launch
• Influence key stakeholders throughout Square to align intent, resources, and prioritization

Qualifications
You have:

• At least (8) years of relevant professional experience
• A portfolio of multiple shipped projects on which you were the primary designer
• The ability to articulate high-level team goals and connect your work to larger team or company initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience working across native platforms and web
• You plan, scope, and create work that contributes to a larger, long-term plan
• You are an advocate for the customer
• You take pride in the quality of your work and create professional, well-thought-out designs and presentations using established design systems
• You work on challenging, wide-reaching projects for your team
• You know when to go deep on a problem and create a comprehensive vision
• You are comfortable conducting your own user research.
