Job Description

Description
In the U.S. alone, over 30 million patients per year are prescribed care via paper and fax. The ordering process is long, complicated, and yields an 83% error rate. Discharges are delayed and patients spend extra time in care facilities.
At Parachute Health, we're pioneering a modern approach to healthcare communication. We've built a platform where clinicians, insurance companies, and medical supply distributors coordinate care; empowering everyone to focus on getting patients the treatment they need, when they need it.
We are helping more than 30,000+ new patients monthly. Founded and launched in New York, we've grown across 30+ states and partnered with 4 of the top 10 ranked hospitals, 5 of the top 15 largest nursing facility chains, and 5 of the 10 largest home health agencies.
We are seeking a senior-level engineer with Elixir/Phoenix experience to join our team! This individual will work on a small, independent team building out a greenfield project. Contract and full-time positions are available.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Direct key technical decisions related to application and data model design of a greenfield Elixir/Phoenix application.
  • Work throughout the stack (backend, frontend, infrastructure) on a lean engineering team.
  • Work with the team to build a deep understanding of our product and shape its future.
  • Develop in an agile environment, with an emphasis on automated testing and flexible pair programming.
  • Maintain stable and performant application stacks.
  • Consistently deliver quality code that supports business goals.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years working in a production environment, including some experience with Elixir/Phoenix.
  • Experience as technical lead on projects working with UX/UI design and/or product management.
  • Understanding of data structures, TDD, and software engineering design patterns and principles.
  • Production experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, etc)
  • Live in the continental United States.

Nice to have:
  • Delight in learning.
  • Experience building full stack applications in Ruby on Rails.
  • Proficient in multiple other languages (javascript, python, SQL, etc).
  • Exposure to healthcare technologies.
  • Front end expertise in a modern javascript framework (React, Angular, Ember, etc).

Benefits
  • Work alongside an experienced, mission-oriented team (ThoughtWorks, PillPack)
  • Great compensation and benefits package including fully-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Fully remote company with a tech stipend
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Summer Fridays
