Senior Product Engineer, Growth Analytics

We’re looking for a senior software engineer with an appetite to help define and incrementally build a digital analytics platform that will enable product teams to self-serve actionable insights to drive customer-centric growth outcomes. You’ll be an early member amongst a group of puzzlers excited about helping all companies quickly find and understand their core metrics like Facebook’s  “7 friends in 10 days”.  You'll be working closely with product managers, product designers, and engineers across teams to  build incremental and new solutions.

The team is fast moving and you will be expected to iterate quickly and own design tradeoffs for product features for the short, medium and long term.  You will become intimately familiar with React, Redux, and ES6. You’ll spend time writing code across the stack using React, Redux, Node.js, Typescript, Python, Postgres, Apollo, and GraphQL. The product you’ll build will be used by paying customers every day and will allow them to accomplish jobs that traditionally would take hours, in minutes.

• Develop new features to help customers iterate through many queries and visualizations to gain a new understanding of their users, using a full stack that includes Node, React, Redux, Typescript, CSS, Python, Apollo, GraphQL.
• Tackle engineering problems dealing with large datasets, diverse schemas, and complex workflows.
• Integrate with backend services and build out endpoints with Python, Node and GraphQL against Postgres databases and Redis clusters.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to tackle the most important customer needs, craft creative user experiences, and deliver on ambitious timelines.
• Join user research calls to collect feedback throughout the product development cycle.
• Lead engineering discussions and mentor others on engineering best practices.
• Own the Amplitude product experience that customers interface with every day

• Have 5+ years of experience working in a product or front end engineering role.
• Like to work closely with customers to build features and solve problems.
• Enjoy working in a technical leadership role on an engineering team.
• Have found yourself drawn to understanding the details of business-centric analyses.
• Have fluency with one or more JavaScript application frameworks (Typescript, NodeJS, React/Redux/Svelte/Vue/etc..).
• Enjoy building UIs with modern tools like Babel and ES6, React and Redux, Webpack and Typescript.
• Have experience deploying, scaling, and managing high traffic web applications.
• Pride yourself in your excellent attention to detail and your design and UX sensibilities.
• Value cross-functional collaboration and clear communication.
