Senior Product Manager
Job Description
POLITICO is looking for a proactive,creativeand efficient senior product manager to lead the creation and ongoing management of POLITICO products. The senior product manager will lead projects and products as assigned by the head of consumer product, includingleading working groups,writing requirements, feature scoping, testing and delivery. They will work with other team functions to build and demonstrate a strong knowledge of the target users and buyers.
The person in this role must be able to build positive relationships with key stakeholders, coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
What You'll Do:
- Develop an expert understanding of our current and ideal consumers
- Bring creative insight and curiosity to our current and new product offerings; proactively identifying user and business needs to inform the product roadmap
- Write clear/concise requirement documents, epics, and user stories and broadly communicate your vision
- Proactively map out critical project milestones, identify and resolve/escalate strategic roadblocks and manage feature dependencies
- Monitor product data closely and identify opportunities for improvement
- Help shape business strategies and product features through thoughtful data collection, insightful observations, and careful analysis
- Lead design and delivery of your projects, working with cross-functional teams to create and refine business goals and the product vision
- Proactively manage and prioritize a backlog
- Coordinate communication between developers, designers, and business stakeholders regarding goals, requirements, and risks

What You'll Need:
- 4+ years experience
- Pro-active, analytical and strategic approach to solving problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with cross-functional teams, including working directly with developers
- Creativity and innovation, with a love of sharing inspiration and new ideas
- Habit of staying up-to-date and knowledgeable about the latest industry trends, innovations, and best practices
- Familiarity with ticketing software or project management tools such as JIRA
- Experience writing acceptance criteria or product requirements
- Ability to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in digital media, B2B, or politics/policy is a plus
