Encodia is a rapidly growing platform company that is developing a new generation of protein analysis tools based on single-molecule protein sequencing. Our goal is to make protein sequencing easy and ubiquitous by using a novel reverse-translation technology that turns peptide sequences into DNA. The DNA can be read by a DNA sequencer, providing a path to breakthrough proteomics research at a scale that is not practical or cost-effective using current technologies.

Job Summary

As a Sr. Product Manager, you will drive value through product leadership, prioritizing impactful and measurable results, and collaborating with cross functional teams. You will play an essential role in ensuring two-way communication between marketing, development, and revenue teams to drive marketing organization effectiveness. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to elicit and analyze user needs, transform operational/user needs into system requirements and communicate requirements to development teams. You will manage the go-to-market process and collaboration of launch teams.

Requirements

• Engage with technical and business stakeholders to elucidate requirements and ensure successful implementation of product requirements, optimize workflows, and lead product definition
• Develop detailed product strategy (instrumentation, consumables and software) and roadmap from ideation and feedback sessions with subject matter experts, customers, and stakeholders
• Build business plans that include opportunity assessment, positioning strategy, financial analysis, unit forecasting, and pricing models for product portfolios
• Assess partnership opportunities relevant to a high throughput proteomic sequencing workflow that integrates into NGS
• Perform competitive and market analysis, and market research though voice of customer
• Work cross functionally with and within core teams to creatively develop and test product concepts and ideas
• Train teams and support selling activities, including development of sales tools and collateral, and organizing scientific events

What you bring to the role

• 5+ years of experience in product management
• 5+ years experience in genomics or related industry
• Track record of success defining and launching excellent products
• Big picture thinking that can map out clear and compelling communication of customer requirements into product requirements into user stories
• Keen ability to evaluate new market opportunities, emerging technologies and trends, use cases, and competitive threats
• Knowledge on how to build a thriving product-focused community
• Ability to clearly communicate product strategy, design rationale and conceptual ideas
• Portfolio of top-notch product work that demonstrates strong user understanding and informed product decisions based on a broad spectrum of metrics
• Possess a core drive to bring excitement and enjoyment to your users
• Knowledge of formalized requirements gathering and analysis methods and tools
• Experience in overseeing new products from their conception to launch
• Outstanding leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
• Must have an excellent work ethic, exceptional judgment, and unquestionable integrity
• Hands on, high energy, and highly responsive

Highly Desirable

• Degree in molecular biology, engineering or associated scientific field highly desirable
• Ph.D., MBA or other advanced degree desirable, but not required
• Experience with design/development/testing/support of software/firmware applications for biomedical instruments/ medical devices, a plus
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jama, Jira, Confluence), a plus
• Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and Data Analysis, a plus
• Experience across instrument, software, and consumable life science products with associated technical depth strongly preferred
