Senior Product Manager, Live Streaming

Wowza Media Systems is a pioneering leader in the streaming technology industry. We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the development of live streaming capabilities on the Wowza Video platform. In this highly collaborative role, you'll work closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate product vision into actionable roadmaps and requirements. Your deep understanding of the OTT industry and ability to empathize with diverse customer needs will be key to delivering world-class video experiences.

 
What You Will Do 

• Translate product vision, strategy, and roadmap into actionable product definitions 
• Conduct customer research and market analysis to inform product decisions 
• Collaborate with engineering to translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria 
• Prioritize and groom the product backlog in an agile environment 
• Evangelize the product internally and externally through pitch decks, demos, and customer feedback 
• Define and measure key success metrics for customer value delivery 
• Evaluate competitive offerings to inform positioning, messaging, and pricing 
• Specify technical requirements for video encoding system architecture 
• Partner with UX designers to craft exceptional customer experiences 
• Coach and mentor other product managers to drive team success 

Requirements

• 6+ years of product management experience in agile SaaS environments 
• Customer-centric mindset with deep empathy for user needs 

• Proven ability to learn from customers, frame problems, and deliver differentiated solutions 
• Strong technical acumen and familiarity with modern software development practices 
• Experience defining technical requirements for robust, scalable platforms 
• Deep understanding of the OTT industry, video formats, codecs, DRM, and adaptive bitrate streaming 
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and drive results in fast-paced environments 
• Passion for media technology and its potential to revolutionize video consumption 
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills 
• Comfort working cross-functionally in geographically distributed organizations 

Bonus 

• A solid understanding of RESTful API design & documentation 
• Scripting/programming experience (Python, Javascript, etc.)
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL, pandas, etc) 
• Experience in Domain Driven Design 

Benefits

Salary: $120,000-$140,000

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of our salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, location, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees. The benefits below are for US based employees.
