About the Job

We are seeking an exceptional technically oriented person to become a leader within the Product team leading Platform and Data Products. A successful candidate has a deep understanding of how to leverage data, platform and services to be a force-multiplier for the value we create through our products.  You will be instrumental in designing the future evolution of the SmartAsset platform and SmartAdvisor marketplace partnering with technical experts and the business. You are an expert player/ coach, bringing out the best in the team, advocating for the customer with an innate ability to deliver unparalleled customer value that maps back to business impact. You will be responsible for driving product vision for our platform for the future, championing the user insights, and ensuring that only the strongest feature concepts are being delivered across the organization. Responsibilities will include:

• Passionately drive a cross-product Platform and Data Products vision from concept to launch 
• Prioritize and support the work of multiple consumer-facing products and provide a cohesive vision across the organization
• Apply leverage through creative underpinnings of product development partnering with the data, product and tech teams to be a force-multiplier for the organization
• Lead and manage an agile scrum team workflow. You have a strong understanding of technical limitations and can effectively communicate and collaborate with developers
• Research, analyze data, and know the internal and external customer. Be the biggest advocate for platform and services as a force-multiplier
• Drive a strategic vision, own your respective roadmap and manage multiple projects aimed at delivering products with the highest standards in online finance advice
• Coach and mentor other team members

Skills/Experience You Have: 

• A proven leader with 5+ years of experience in a product management role working on products that are enabled by platform and services 
• You have experience envisioning and delivering complex consumer and enterprise products across a variety of domains: consumer tech, service and sales, data products
• You know how to drive projects successfully through to completion with the ability to influence without full ownership of the end-client product. 
• You’ve worked in cross-functional teams and know how to write effective product specifications and work collaboratively with technology partners
• You are an exceptional communicator. You can explain complex concepts in simple terms and know how to build consensus around ideas
• Smart with heart!

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

• Intermediate or higher knowledge of SQL and experience manipulating large datasets with Python, R, etc. 
• You have a passion for innovative and experience-focused products. You understand the importance of prioritizing for user experience and have a keen sense for intuitive, simple products that make users happy
• You have a strong understanding of math, data, technology and their intersection in financial services
