Job Description
Datavant is a rapidly growing healthcare technology company with a mission to connect the world’s health data. By joining Datavant today, you’re stepping onto a highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare. We look for people who are smart, nice and get things done. Datavant is a distributed, remote-first team (no office locations) and we empower Datavanters to shape their working environment in a way that suits their needs -- learn more here!
Datavant is fast-paced, product-driven, and focused on challenging the status quo. But cultures are defined on how they are different, not how they are the same, and we encourage you to read about the Datavant Way here.
We’re looking for a senior product manager with experience in revenue cycle management, in particular provider coding (inpatient and outpatient). You’re one to get excited when you see a challenge in making complex systems speak, you love trying new things, and learning about and improving your craft. As the product manager for the Provider Coding pod, your goal is to discover and develop a solution for one of the most pressing problems that providers are facing today: how to ensure that they get paid appropriately, and how to accomplish this in an environment of increasing costs and fewer people with the required skillset and interest in the work. At its heart, this work is about alleviating the burden of coding from providers by reliably, quickly, and efficiently taking clinical data and providing fully-coded encounters.
We’re looking for a commercially-minded product manager who can think through how components of our extensive product can be leveraged for other uses as well. An interest in or understanding of coding, health data, and integrations will be necessary. You will be starting from square 0: evaluating opportunities to build vs buy, making the case for either, partnering closely with a service operations team, contemplating M&A tuck-ins. This is the role for someone who is entrepreneurial and excited to build the future.
- Learning all about the core business of information exchange / release of information in healthcare
- Defining, with Head of Provider Product, the next version of the charter of this pod
- Shipping several key improvements that’ll positively impact tens of millions of patients’ lives
- Working out with your engineering team how you’d like to work
Some brief essays we like, so you can get a sense of the culture you’re joining
- 5+ years of product management experience in tech-forward companies
- Experience in provider codingÂ
- Experience coming up to speed in a regulated industry, inexplicable desire to read and grapple with regulations
- Kindness, smartness, and the ability to Get Things Done
We are committed to building a diverse team of Datavanters who are all responsible for stewarding a high-performance culture in which all Datavanters belong and thrive. We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected status.
Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges for this position are developed with the support of benchmarks and industry best practices.Â
We’re building a high-growth, high-autonomy culture. We rely less on job titles and more on cultivating an environment where anyone can contribute, the best ideas win, and personal growth is driven by expanding impact. The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is $180,000- $200,000.
At the end of this application, you will find a set of voluntary demographic questions. If you choose to respond, your responses will be anonymous and used to help us identify areas of improvement in our recruitment process. (We can only see aggregate responses, not individual responses. In fact, we aren’t even able to see if you’ve responded or not.) Responding is your choice and it will not be used in any way in our hiring process.
