Reporting into the Senior Product Director, Analytics & AI, the Sr Product Manager directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, development, quality, marketing, sales and distribution as the product(s) move through their lifecycle. Directs those involved in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific capability, product or group of products. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.

Role Summary

  • As an Availity Sr. Product Manager, you lead a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life, defining an overall product line vision, ensuring factors driving revenue and profitability are in place, while working through managed employees and matrixed resources. Focus is at a product line level working on a suite of products (all features/functions).
  • Part of the Product Management team, you are the person ultimately responsible for the overall product success, including working with Availity stakeholders, partners, and broad network of customers to design a solution that meets market needs.
  • Empowered to make decisions about product roadmaps, ensuring delivery of roadmaps, go-to-market plans, planning activities, and removing roadblocks for the delivery teams.
  • This leadership position requires that you lead by example and empower your Product Owners and Analysts to drive execution of your product or solution vision.
  • Capabilities and solutions developed in this area may range from internal analytic building blocks, including reference data sets and aggregations, to predictive modeling solutions and AI infused insights into existing and new products.
  • You are accountable for product design, roadmapping and planning, your ultimate objective is to positively differentiate your assigned products from the competition and delight customers.
  • This position requires an understanding of the Product Management life cycle and the artifacts and ensuring teams are collaborative and documenting for success. You must possess the ability to understand market opportunity and viability of product design and articulate ROI as an internal and external product champion and its strongest evangelist.

To be qualified for this position you (have):

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Product Management preferably with Analytics/data driven products within healthcare technology.
  • Experience creating and executing roadmaps as well as leading a team to meet deliverables.
  • Experience managing customer expectations.
  • Worked in and are comfortable operating in a matrix organization, coordinating across multiple disciplines.
  • Possess technical acumen, the ability to gather and describe product requirements and get feedback from technical staff.
  • Knowledge of modern technology architectures, database technology, virtualization, and the impact of government initiatives and HIPAA privacy and security regulations on system design
  • Knowledge of Agile processes

  • AI/Machine Learning experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using tools such as Jira
  • Familiarity with ANSI X12 transactions

You will be:

  • Enabling the portfolio strategy by delivering a commercially viable product or solution and ensuring all factors of a go to market strategy are enacted.
  • Leading definition and prioritization of problems, requirements, solutions, and features, which includes working with internal stakeholders, health plans and providers to understand their workflows and define the problem to be solved, which may be internally focused.
  • Collaborating with the Product Organization and Account teams to understand the market opportunity and viability of product design.
  • Engaging with UX/Design and focus groups (users, prospects, clients) to perform concept testing and solution refinement.
  • Defining product vision, roadmaps and supporting business case for new data science driven solutions.
  • Developing or directing development of operational and financial reporting metrics to ensure product success.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and responding to user feedback.
  • Working cross-functionally in a matrix driven environment.
  • Collaborating with technical teams including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Architects and Developers on solution design and roadmap execution.
  • Leading team of product owners and product analysts to execute against product vision.
  • Ensuring products are well documented and conform to specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with marketing to develop material to convey product capabilities and value.
  • Assist in creation of pricing and packaging.
  • Collaborate with Account Management and other stakeholders to plan internal communications, metrics, process design and ensure operational readiness.
  • Evangelize product, company point of view and differentiation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create content for increasing thought leadership based on point of view.
  • Accountable for the success of the product / solution in the market.
