Job Description
WHAT IS BOX?
Box is the market leader for Cloud Content Management. Our mission is to power how the world works together. Box is partnering with enterprise organizations to accelerate their digital transformation by creating a single platform for secure content management, collaboration and workflow. We have an amazing opportunity to further establish ourselves as leaders in the space, and we need strong advocates to help us achieve that goal.Â
By joining Box, you will have the unique opportunity to help capture a majority of this developing market and define what content management looks like for the digital enterprise. Today, Box powers over 100,000 businesses, including 67% of the Fortune 500 who trust Box to manage their content in the cloud.Â
WHY BOX NEEDS YOUÂ
Our customers share and collaborate on sensitive information stored in Box including personally identifiable information, intellectual property, and more. With cyber threats on the rise, users continue to be the weakest link in information security and IT security teams need to ensure that such sensitive information is not leaked from their Box instance. That’s why Box Shield is on a mission to tackle challenges of building information security products that work on petabyte scale. Since Box Shield was launched over three years ago to enable frictionless security, we have consistently expanded this advanced security solution by introducing new capabilities and enhancing existing ones to address a wider range of high-value use cases. Box Shield has become the fastest growing and most widely used add-on product in Box’s history, leading to the expansion of our team.
We are currently seeking an experienced product manager to take the lead in a critical area of the Box Shield product, specifically Content Classification, which is the foundation of our security products. As part of this role, you will collaborate with the engineering team based at our Redwood City HQ. Your responsibilities will include defining the product strategy and roadmap, managing product requirements, and ensuring successful product releases to the market.
WHAT YOU'LL DOÂ
- Define strategy and drive execution for Shield’s Content Classification products
- Conduct market research, customer research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions
- Partner with Design and Engineering teams to develop new products and enhance existing ones that deliver measurable value
- Collaborate with GTM teams including Marketing, Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Product Support, Professional Service, etc. to effectively communicate product messaging to customers, identify high-value use cases, and explore new product opportunities
- Work closely with Analytics to define metrics, track adoption and usage, identify gaps, and make data-informed decisions
- Work with Business Development to identify opportunities to accelerate business, such as integration with technical partners, acquisition of new technologies, etc.
WHO YOU AREÂ
- 5+ years of experience as a product manager, with 1+ years managing SaaS products
- Experience managing information security products such as Data Leak Prevention, Cloud Access Security Broker, Secure Access Service Edge, etc. is a plus
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related fields
- Proficient technical understanding
- Effective communication with all types of audiences, developers, customer success, or executives
- Experience working with data scientists and ML engineers is a plus
