Senior Product Manager - Special Projects

Job Summary:

We're seeking highly motivated individuals to own and drive the product P&L, build business cases, manage the product roadmap and ensure product competitiveness in the market. As the Product Manager you will lead a cross-functional team to ensure products are delivered on time, at-quality, and fit the market needs. The successful Product Manager will be empowered to incubate and scale new products both in and outside of the automotive industry. The Product Manager will have a focused strategy and product roadmap to any first version launch in existing and new markets to expand Aptiv's capabilities even further.

Your Role:

Data Driven Product Strategies:

• Maintaining structured market requirements 'knowledge bank' working closely with sales and product strategy & marketing teams
• Defining product strategies at the modular product level with focus on market differentiation

• Performing detailed competitive analysis to ensure investments and strategies stay focused on differentiation
• Defining and developing roadmaps (3-5 years and 10 year outlook) to ensure sustainable differentiation and investments (advanced development)

• Incorporate data and detailed end user experience (driver and passengers) to determining the roadmap

• Working & driving partnerships (incl. Windriver), developing supplier collaboration models & strategies leading up to potential M&A in collaboration with corporate strategy teams

Go-to-market:

• Defining pricing models including piece price/ licenses and NRE and work with sales and business teams to ensure competitiveness in the market
• Supporting proactive business development with regional customer teams and product marketing
• Training the sales organization and developing go-to-market strategies with target customer groups
• Developing business cases across customer groups to define P&L

Development & Execution:

• Developing detailed product definitions to ensure product understood by engineering & sales teams
• Maintaining clear documentation of product KPIs and value propositions and product requirements
• Driving platform approach to drive economies of scales technically and commercially.

Support:

• Product Managing Director(s) to drive profitability and top line growth working in close collaboration with Product development, Global Engineering and Regional Customer Teams

• Help creation of business plan, budget and 3 year booking plan
• Help identify target opportunities based on market fit

• Develop common product management processes and tools for deliverables to ensure consistencies
• Ensure active collaboration with other product groups to drive cross Aptiv value proposition (incl. ACS, SPS wherever relevant)
• Develop data driven strategies to drive feature expansion across products and 'push' differentiated solutions to the market

• Work closely with product marketing teams to defined tailored value propositions across customer groups.

Your background:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field. MBA a plus
• 5+ years of experience in software and hardware product management

• Solid, hands-on experience developing and delivering highly available and complex systems in partnership with domain subject matter experts
• Experience with value based software pricing and agile development methodology
• Extensive understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
• Excellent communication / presentation skills
• Proficiency with product management tools (e.g. JIRA)

• Prior knowledge of automotive technologies and process
• Proactive, highly organized facilitator comfortable driving clarity and results in ambiguous scenarios.
