The Sr Product Manager, Product Innovation is responsible for visualizing and bringing the product vision to life for new product development by translating customer needs into prioritized innovation and technology roadmaps. You will have the opportunity to ensure alignment of pre-concept R&D efforts (Innovation org) to strategic business needs, tech roadmaps, and product roadmaps.

This position is part of the Global Product Management Organization and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA as a Hybrid role. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Be on the vanguard of development of NextGen products for Cepheid, especially software / UI.
• Develop and present business cases for NPD (own file and drive process); define market requirements and write product definitions
• Contribute to rationalized roadmap, IPV and Innovation Growth Equation tasks; aligned with Strategic Plan, balance risk, meet IPV targets, articulate through dashboards
• Gather and represent the voice of customer and voice of business on NPD core teams (and at PPG/phase gate exits/design reviews) - manage risk and tradeoffs
• Establish leadership in cross functional NPD core teams and ensure adherence to market and product requirements from pre-concept tollgates through product design lock.
• Success will be measured by meeting IPV/IFV targets, on-time-delivery (OTD), Revenue Achievement, and NPD Funnel Velocity goals.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related work experience in Upstream Marketing or Product Management in the medical products industries especially diagnostics OR Master's Degree with 4+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree with 3+ years of related work experience
• Demonstrated experience of translating customer needs into product requirements and ensuring product designs meet customer needs.
• Experience in developing and presenting business cases to top management and leadership
• Knowledge of the molecular diagnostic testing and instrumentation marketplace highly desired.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Strategic marketing and/or product management experience is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
• Excellent presentation skills; able to multi-task across broad number of products and lab environments

The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $190,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
