Summary
Granicus is seeking a skilled product owner to join our Product team – creating amazing products that help transform developed market government & associated franchises. The Product Owner is responsible for gathering business requirements from cross-functional stakeholders, breaks then down into technical requirements and guides the vision of what needs to be built collaborating with the engineering team to deliver that vision.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Define functional requirements for new product features.
- Support the detailed definition of the product roadmap aligned to the Product Managers vision.
- Create and own the prioritized backlog.
- Work with architects, Engineering and UX to understand the design and prepare for sprint and release plans.
- Review, give feedback, and approve product deliveries according to acceptance criteria within area of responsibility.
- Assist customer support, training, and implementation teams with product issues.
- Enable technical documentation creation including feature documentation, micro-learning videos, and release guide preparation.
- Support Product Managers and serve as a trusted collaborator in considering feature innovations and critical decision-making.
- Act as the agile product owner on engineering scrum team(s) to own and prioritize the backlog for a feature area in collaboration with the Product Manager.
- Participate in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
- Author user stories acceptance criteria and clearly define and verify that story implementation matches requirements
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Product Owner/Business Analyst or similar role in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Agile development SDLC experience in systems and application design.
- Proficient in conducting Kanban and Scrum ceremonies like refinement, planning, retro etc.
- Proficient in testing and debugging work related to the implementation, enhancement of product features, and third-party external integrations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Any formal BA training or certification would be advantageous.
- Fast learner with ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.
- Have the ability to produce wireframes and detailed process flows.
- Knowledge of tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Ability to prioritize product capabilities/features based on vision, business goals, technology, schedules and budgets.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- 7+ years of experience working with technical teams, product development and / or product management.
