We’re looking for a Professional Services Consultant to deliver outstanding client solutions. Your role will include understanding client requirements, uncovering what customer experience problems need solving and managing multiple project delivery with the added opportunity of global travel. The primary role of the PS Consultant is to provide solution implementation services, integration development, training, and associated consulting.  Given the nature of the job, the Consultant must be able to work both independently and in a team. The successful PS Consultant will quickly inspire the customer’s confidence in Vonage’s services and solutions through their product knowledge, applications expertise, creativity, integrity, responsiveness, and effective communication.

What will you do

• Perform remote and on-site application configuration and support, including activities such as the implementation of new features, system upgrades or migrations, implementation of real-time and historical reporting, or CRM configuration.

• Identify and pro-actively manage key risk areas.

• Perform application discoveries, solution design, and product configuration to customer specific requirements.

• Train customers in the use of product.

• Recognise opportunities for Vonage to expand its presence in targeted markets and communicate sales leads to the appropriate account management.

• Performance of all duties to maximise client satisfaction and growth of the business by generating client-billable activities and achieving target utilisation levels.

• Continually grow your value by increasing your skills, knowledge and ability in leading edge technologies consistent with our business focus.

What you will bring

• 3+ years of related experience

• Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking and listening.

• Superior presentation and facilitation skills. Proven ability to train customers in software applications

• The ability to perform in a fast pace environment and possess the organisational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively

• Strong Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of APIs , their functionalities, and how they integrate with different systems is essential. This includes knowledge of different API types (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), API design principles, authentication mechanisms, and data formats (JSON, XML).

• Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in API development such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C# is vital. 

• Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills are vital for an API consultant. You should be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, understand their requirements, and translate them into API specifications. Collaborating with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to align API solutions with organizational goals is also important

• Security and Authorization: Understanding API security principles and best practices is crucial. Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT), secure data transmission (HTTPS), and handling sensitive data securely is vital to protect APIs and ensure data integrity

• Problem-Solving, Troubleshooting and Documentation and Testing: Proficiency in documenting APIs using tools like Swagger or OpenAPI Specification is essential. Additionally, experience in API testing frameworks (Postman, JUnit) and knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and test automation for APIs is valuable to ensure the quality and reliability of the APIs.

• Industry Awareness: Staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in the API industry is important. This includes knowledge of emerging API standards, technologies, and practices. Understanding API management platforms, cloud services, and API-related tools can also enhance your effectiveness as a consultant.

• Adaptability and Continuous Learning: The API landscape is constantly evolving, with new technologies and best practices emerging regularly. API consultants should be adaptable and open to learning, embracing new tools, frameworks, and methodologies. Being receptive to feedback, incorporating lessons learned, and continuously improving one's skills are vital for staying relevant and delivering optimal API solutions.

• Must be able to travel domestic and international as needed
