Senior Program Associate, Climate
Job Description
The Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Senior Associate to support our NYC-based Scale For ClimateTech Program team. The team is responsible for delivering the Scale for ClimateTech program. The Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting the successful execution of SecondMuse's New York statewide Scale for ClimateTech program supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Scale for ClimateTech focuses on supporting growth stage climate tech innovators and startups with an aim to develop a faster and less expensive path to market than they would experience on their own. The program supports both entrepreneurs and manufacturers through technical support, network access, capacity building, communications and connecting to investment networks. The Senior Associate will lead or support programmatic services to innovators and startups as well as support the program manager in the overall program operations. The Senior Associate will help ensure deliverables are executed within their scope, budget, and timeline. The Senior Associate will also be expected to assist with other operational areas such as communications, quality management, stakeholder management, and partnership management. The Senior Associate may also support other projects or programs when necessary.
Work Environment
This role is a full-time, US East Coast-based position in a distributed team/office structure. Periodic travel, averaging no more than a few days each quarter may be required.
Essential Functions
- Assist the program team in ensuring deliverables are executed within scope, on time and within budget
- Lead or support programmatic services to climate tech startups in the program
- Lead the dissemination of program curriculum to participating startups including but not limited to virtual workshops and info sessions
- Lead the execution of providing MRL assessments to participating startups
- Lead the creation, coordination, and facilitation of recurring program meetings with experts, and one-on-ones
- Support the management of the Subject Matter Expert database
- Support recruitment and cohort selection
- Support the management of the online learning platform
- Support manufacturing tours (ability to travel necessary)
- Support the innovation showcase
- Support the onboarding and offboarding of Subject Matter Experts and Cohort
- Assist with other operational areas such as communications, quality management, stakeholder management, and partnership management
- Assist the program team in implementing quality management practices and communicating findings in reports and presentations
- Assist the program team in tracking data and reporting
- Assist the program team in conducting communications tasks when necessary including but not limited to drafting new communications content, reviewing communications materials, etc.
- Assist the program team in managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders
- Utilize company wide best practices. Capture program learnings and participate in sharing learnings across program teams and the broader company
Requirements
- 3 years experience in accelerator, incubator or other programs
- Range of understanding around manufacturing, engineering, design, sourcing, certification or regulatory challenges
- Engineering, technical expertise, manufacturing or hardware design experience
- Expertise in startups, business, and/or industrial fields
- Knowledge of emerging climate technologies and Climatetech sector
- Project, budget and financial management experience
- Understanding of community and ecosystem building
- Ambition and commitment towards tackling the climate crisis
