Job Description Summary:
As we continue to grow in today’s fast-paced environment, Digital Wallet organization is currently looking a Sr. Program Manager with 12+ years of IT experience, preferably with 4+ years of exposure in solving tough problems on Performance, Scalability and Latency across systems, along with experience in Agile project management, product launch management & change management. This dynamic role will support a wide range of technology efforts that will transform how PayPal operates and executes in the future.Digital Wallet is THE vehicle that drives how we attract, engage, and retain consumers and link them to the commerce flywheel, and we do that by giving them multiple reasons to choose PayPal. Used by 100s of millions of customers globally, this demands rigor in solutions development with the need for continuous improvements in scale, latency, and the overall customer experience. Our team is focused on ensuring end-to-end management of PayPal’s underlying products, technology infrastructure, partnerships and regulatory foundations to help enable our support of existing capabilities and markets, as well as drive continued growth in the space.
Job Description:
What You'll Do:Â
As a Program Manager at PayPal, you will:Â
- Play a pivotal role in driving and managing large, complex programs over a finite period of time in order to achieve specific business goals. Ensure the timely delivery of business value and the efficient use of organizational resources.Â
- Partner with Business and Technology leadership to establish a solid understanding of the vision, purpose and expected business benefits of a program. Ensure measurable KPIs are defined and aligned to company goals and objectives.Â
- Manage the program-level decomposition of work across multiple delivery teams. Work across organizational boundaries to define program interdependencies and release plans.Â
- Manage the technical interface and communication with a diverse set of partner teams across PayPal Inc.
- Obsess over your customers and work backwards to define tenets, customer experiences, long-term goals, focus areas and key metrics.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Product Development, Platform, Product Marketing, Sales, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Customer Success, Analytics, Data Science, Product Policy, Infosec, Infrastructure, Media and Comms, Go to Market Teams to execute and deliver programs aligning to product vision and program goals, objectives and timelines.
- Ensure appropriate cross functional product family resources are engaged and help define creative solutions to address resourcing challenges.Â
- Drive resolution of program-level issues leveraging scrum-of-scrums as needed. Facilitate executive-level escalations and program-level change management.Â
- Monitor health of program delivery. Track program-level status, risks, issues and dependencies. Proactively address delivery team impediments. Resolve program-level roadblocks to enable successful program execution.Â
- Manage program-level communications ensuring stakeholders are informed of roadmap changes, release plans and delivery status. Lead program-level reviews with delivery teams, stakeholders and executive management as required.Â
- Drive the integration and adoption of agile delivery practices across delivery teams. Facilitate program retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities. Evangelize and integrate desired changes in order to enable continuous improvement.Â
- Lead by example. Actively coach Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Delivery teams in order to promote successful adoption of agile practices. Cover key management roles as needed to ensure the success of program delivery efforts.Â

About You:Â
- You have worked in a program manager role for a minimum of 12Â years.Â
- You have experience organizing multiple teams delivering on software/product development initiatives. Agile lifecycle management experience preferred.Â
- You have a track record of managing complex development programs to deliver technical solutions and achieve business results, positively impacting the customer experience.Â
- You know how to develop effective, matrixed, cross-organization relationships, collaboration and communication across business and technology stakeholders. Experience collaborating with teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies preferred.Â
- You have a strong technical acumen and strong voice for the customer across the program delivery lifecycle.Â
- You have extensive knowledge of project management process, project management software tools, templates and management techniques.Â
- You have been successful in developing program/project level artifacts to support a major software implementation program with concurrent releases.Â
- You have Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across organizational boundaries to drive closure of complex delivery challenges
- You have strong business acumen and technical background, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate technical concepts and challenges across wide-ranging audiences
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with professional confidence and credibility to effectively engage and interact with senior and executive management
- You have strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to move quickly from insight to action Â
- You are a great Collaborator, self-starter, and self-sufficient individual Â
- You thrive in a dynamic, stimulating work environment Â
- You have the ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment and can motivate, mentor, and coach other team members Â
- You are familiar with tools like JIRA/ServiceNow, Confluence, Tableau, Power BI, MS Office, Smartsheets/Clarizen, Collaboration tools (Slack, Skype, Teams etc.)Â Â

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in a business or technology discipline or related field
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
- Industry experience as a Software Development Engineer or Data Scientist
- Previous managerial experience in software development, quality assurance, or product managementÂ
- Prior online payments industry experienceÂ
