Job Description

Reporting to the Director of the Program Management Office (PMO), the Senior Program Manager will lead multiple strategic programs and initiatives. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex software development programs, driving their successful delivery, and providing strategic execution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of program management with exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. The position is responsible for working with key stakeholders to identify the business goals, plan the initiative, scope the program, develop resource plans, and communicate progress. The Senior Program Manager ensures all project activities and objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-conscious manner, aligned with the strategic goals of GHX. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic software development programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives and strategic direction. 
  • Develop and implement program management frameworks, methodologies, and standards to drive consistency and efficiency across programs. 
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to program teams, establishing clear program goals, objectives, and success criteria. 
  • Oversee the end-to-end program lifecycle, from program initiation to closure, ensuring the successful delivery of program outcomes within defined scope, budget, and timeline. 
  • Conduct program planning, including resource allocation, budgeting, and risk assessment. Monitor program performance against Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and take corrective actions as needed. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership to ensure effective communication, coordination, and alignment throughout the program execution. 
  • Manage and mentor program managers and project teams, providing guidance, support, and leadership to drive high performance and professional development. 
  • Identify and manage program risks and issues, developing appropriate mitigation strategies. Escalate critical issues and risks to executive leadership when necessary. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and partners. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment. 
  • Develop and deliver executive-level program updates, status reports, and presentations. Provide regular program performance updates to executive leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to program management.  
  • Conduct program post-mortem reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for process improvements. Leverage insights to enhance future program execution and delivery. 
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the program management function. 
  • Collaborate with GHX leadership to identify and pursue new program opportunities.  
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and contractual obligations related to the programs being managed. 

 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Advanced knowledge and expertise of program management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices in software development. 
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale programs within budget, scope, and timeline. 
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to provide strategic direction and inspire high-performance teams. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven and results-oriented approach. 
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across various business units. 
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose program performance problems and execute effective corrective actions. 
  • Proficiency in program management software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Strong analytical and financial management 

Required Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of project and program management experience and in leading large programs to success  

  • Work experience in a SaaS company 
  • Technical Acumen 

Preferred Experience 

  • PMP or PgMP Certification 
  • Objective and Key Results (OKRs) framework 
  • Agile certification or experience 
  • Change management experience 
  • Budgeting and finance experience 
Estimated salary range for this position: $105,500-$140,600The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
