We have an opportunity for a remote Senior Program Manager, Embedding Equity on our Center for Health Equity Team. As a Senior Program Manager, Embedding Equity you will be responsible for planning, managing and executing initiatives focused on embeddingequity within the AMA. Helps build and implement the AMA's embedding equitystrategic approach. Serves as an operational leader for the Embedding Equityteam to streamline and create efficiencies and identify opportunities to continuallyimprove collaboration and grow partnerships for embedding equity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Development and Management

  • Support the Director of Embedding Equity in strategic planning, ensuring cohesion and strategic alignment across the Center and the Embedding Equity team
  • Manage Embedding Equity team's approach to health equity learning and development, in collaboration with HR; including: formal training on equity curriculum modules in racial equity and intersections of equity (including but not limited to: gender equity, LGBTQ+ equity, disability justice, accessibility) and informal learning such as guest speakers, panel presentations, external workshops.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in operationalizing equity to AMA's initiatives
  • Develop and oversee implementation of defined processes and systems for project execution which includes, development of project charters, assembling of project teams, task coordination, and issue management.
  • Deliver project tasks on time, with high quality and ensure that deliverables/milestones are met.
  • Identify barriers to a project's execution and potential solutions; coordinate activities with collaborators, as applicable and adhere to the budget.
  • Responsible for monitoring of budget and contracts, developing systems or process efficiencies as needed
  • Oversee development and implementation of Embedding Equity communications plan

Staff Management

  • Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for professional 2 staff
  • Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating performance, and developing staff; identify opportunities for advancing staff skills and expertise

Coaching and Consultation

  • Provide consultation and coaching on health and racial equity to AMA business units on a variety of topics as they arise in business units
  • Provide subject matter expertise to complement AMA staff learning in content areas such as: disability justice, racial equity, LGBTQ+ equity, and health equity

Program Evaluation

  • In partnership with the Center's evaluation team and HR, support program evaluation components of AMA Embedding Equity initiatives
  • Support and monitor evaluation of Embedding Equity learning and development initiatives

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferably in public health, healthcare management, public policy, social work, related fields highly preferred
  2. Minimum of 7+ years of total public health and/or healthcare related work experience required
  3. Professional experience engaging with disability communities, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and/or intersections of these identities required
  4. Expertise in health and racial equity, trauma-informed approaches, institutional systems change, coaching, consulting, and/or facilitation required
  5. Minimum of 3+ years public health/health care-focused experience in health and racial equity, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), or consulting
  6. Demonstrated experience with operational planning, budget planning, implementation and evaluation of multiple, complex projects including, convening project teams, organizing multi-faceted project plans, managing towards established timelines and project deliverables.
  7. Proven success and experience identifying, developing and maintaining partnerships and strong client/customer relationships
  8. Strong written and public speaking skills, including experience presenting and facilitating in a large group setting
  9. A strong aptitude for analytical/critical thinking and problem solving; experience using data (both quantitative and qualitative) to shape and launch program strategies or direction, and desire to use a variety of data to make decisions, back up proposals and forecasting, and measure program results
  10. Management experience required, including delegating work and fostering trust and collaboration within teams
  11. Some travel may be required
