The Senior Program Manager, Global Industry & GBU Events, is responsible for the planning, support, and execution of Oracle's Tier 1 third-party and proprietary events within the Global Industry & GBU Events portfolio, which represents the most complex, highest-investment industry events for the company. The role will be the project lead on multiple events simultaneously, and will meet with Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Product Development, Field Sales, and other internal collaborators to evaluate event objectives and then complete all aspects of the event lifecycle, including pre-event planning, day-of event support and post-event follow-up. This position will have a vested interest in more than simply planning an event, but in embracing the latest standard methodologies and tools to build meaningful customer engagement. The individual hired for this role with bring a history of successful, end-to-end event delivery, as well as an understanding of the systems and processes necessary to complete a world-class experience.

What You'll Do:
  • Support all event logistics in planning and completing events, primarily third-party, including sponsorship and contract negotiation, budget management and POs, booth design and production, surrounding event activities, content and messaging liaison, branding/creative liaison, AV requirements and setup, F&B requirements and setup, giveaways, booth setup and teardown, vendor staffing.
  • Collaborate across a distributed team, including partnering with colleagues and vendors across regions to support and complete high-profile programs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cross-functional project management and delivery of outstanding customer event experiences end-to-end.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with members of the extended Marketing team and other Oracle collaborators to complete event-related marketing activities across subject areas.
  • Complete event experiences on budget and on time.
  • Process required documentation (contracts, POs, invoices, etc.) and system entries/updates (calendars, project management tools, etc.) for all activities on time and in compliance with Oracle policies and regulations.
  • Communicate timely and professionally of project status and updates, and provide prompt notification of any required adjustments, or concerns regarding timing, budgets, and other event details.
  • Use multiple Oracle proprietary systems and other applications (e.g., Zoom, Excel, Word, MRM, CXD, etc.) to produce events, communications, reports, etc.
What we love to see:
  • 8-10+ years of event management experience in physical event environments; general marketing and communications background in IT industry a plus.
  • Project leadership experience with proven track record of success, including experience working in a virtual team environment across different time zones.
  • Thinks strategically and keeps the big picture in mind while paying close attention to more immediate tactical details.
  • Solid understanding of the planning, negotiation, and execution of physical event and marketing activities; expertise in third-party conferences.
  • High level of creativity, energy, drive, passion and commitment to the customer experience and program performance.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work confidently and respectfully at all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with an outstanding attention to detail and a focus on results.
  • Works well independently and within a team with a demonstrated history of building collaborative, lasting relationships that deliver business results.

  • Proficient in a variety of applications (Zoom, Excel, Word, Outlook), and can pick up new applications and processes quickly.
  • This position can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada and will require some domestic and international travel (approx. 20% of time).
