OpenBlue Digital Products is an entrepreneurial team working with customers at the leading edge to use technology to drive decarbonization in commercial buildings. These offerings are currently delivered through edge- and cloud-based applications within the OpenBlue product ecosystem.

We are looking for a Commercial Program Manager who will oversee the successful launch of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions that ensure building equipment health, improve building occupant experience, and enable impactful sustainability. In this role, you will work with industry-leading experts in AI, SAFe Agile software development, and cybersecurity to develop and deliver state-of-the art SaaS solutions to a large global customer base.

This role requires

  • Ability to create project plans and drive accountability for results across cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prepare detailed meeting notes that clearly define action items and ownership
  • Collaboration with a global team of product managers, software engineering leaders, customer success, regional stakeholders and shared service teams to meet requirements for general availability of software offerings
  • Passion for scaled agile framework (SAFe), lean startup methods, and product lifecycle management
  • Supporting proposal activities, including proposal development, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics pertaining to program management
  • Utilization of project tools, reporting, and document management systems effectively for scope, schedule, budget, resource, and quality management for program execution

How you will do it

  • Develop and track progress against product offering launch plans tailored to the channel and region
  • Facilitate multi-functional teams who develop Asset Health solutions to enabled more effective Connected Services - including software development, gateway hardware development, data science, and professional services teams
  • Coordinate with global stakeholders for launch preparation
  • Organize field validation and customer pilots to achieve Generally Available (GA) product readiness and establish customer value
  • Collaborate with field operations, customer success, and product managers to document defects and customer enhancement requests for prioritization to ensure the timely release product improvements
  • Organize and communicate customer/project specific commitments and dependencies to product development teams
  • Proactively manage and communicate milestones, dependencies and delays in partnership with Engineering
  • Manages risks and establishes project recovery plans when required. Resolves disputes with minimal need for escalation
  • Support content development for product marketing collateral and technical literature (including On-Line Help) and ensure proper review and approval of same
  • Plan and manage training deliverables for operational readiness to include virtual and on-site classroom
  • Train sales teams, implementation teams, and customer end users to enable adoption
  • Support pre-sales and post-sale customer IT security assessments for customer onboarding in collaboration with product cybersecurity champions, product managers, product owners, and software engineering technical leads.
  • Assess and review software compliance requirements with reference to region specific trade, data and privacy regulations
  • Track team progress weekly against quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Help to create program incremental (PI) plans to prioritize epics, features, non-functional requirements, and quality metrics in collaboration with software engineering, data science, SRE, & cybersecurity teams
  • Deliver presentations for internal JCI stakeholders and at industry events

What we look for

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field, preferably Commercial HVAC. MS/MBA is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management for commercial software products
  • Track record of delivering innovative solutions per plan and on time
  • Demonstrated experience leading matrix-teams without formal reporting
  • Strong consensus building, conflict resolution, and persuasive skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Gantter, and/or other project management tools
  • Excellent written communication and editing skills
  • Agility, curiosity, self-directed learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
