Senior Project Accountant

Two Six Technologies is seeking a full-time Senior Project Accountant with experience working in the government contracting industry to join our growing team. This person will support the TST project portfolio and provide management and oversight of TSC Project Accounting staff. An effective candidate will be a strategic business partner and trusted advisor, requiring clear communication, cross-functional relationships, and will bring outstanding technical accounting skills, and a relentless drive to realize our mission.

Responsibilities Include:

Project Administration:
● Setup new billable projects and tasks in Unanet
● Interpret contract awards & modifications
● Maintain project data
Billing/Revenue Recognition:
● Invoice clients
● Setup revenue recognition and maintain support schedules
Accounts Receivable:
● Create customer invoices and monitor payments
● Review the AR aging to ensure that there are no long-outstanding invoices
● Work with Project Finance and Project Managers to send collections notices as needed
General Ledger / Responsible for month-end close process, which includes:
● Preparation of journal entries, accruals
● Other month-end account reconciliations
Payroll Support
● Payroll Labor Reconciliations
● Support during high-priority timeframes.
Accounts Payable:
● Process subcontractor & consultant vendor invoices.
● Work with Project Finance & Purchasing on cost allocations
● Work with Project Finance to enter accruals for subcontractors and other program related expenses
Audit and statutory support:
● Prepare supporting schedules for financial reviews
● Support annual financial audit
● Experience working with external CPA’s on annual tax returns and audits
Contract Management Support:
● Track prime and subcontract status
● Support Government Contracting compliance and audits
● Experience providing financial and contract management reports to senior management
● Maintain integration of timekeeping data with an accounting system

Minimum Qualifications:
● Five (5) years in accounting, must come from a government contracting environment
● Education = Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
● Five (5) years of working knowledge of Unanet
● Two years of accounting, project setup, and billing experience in Unanet is required
● Expert in Microsoft Office
● Understanding of all aspects of payment transactions
● Passionate and successful in mentoring and training others including cross-departmental training.
● Strong knowledge of local networking, IMU-API connections, and IT business acumen required.
● 5+ years experience in Federal Government Contracting

Nice If You Have:
● Experience with Unanet is required
● Experience with special projects
● Familiarity with contracts management desired
Clearance/Citizenship:
● The candidate must be eligible for a DoD clearance
