$50.00 - $90.00/hr.
Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is currently seeking mid-level and senior-level Project Engineers to support a large Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) customer in Houston, TX.
This opportunity offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for additional cash-in-lieu of benefits. This opportunity is a hybrid role and will allow for some remote work (i.e. work from home a few days a week).
This position is expected to last for at least 1 year and has the possibility to be extended. This is a full-time/benefitted job with Cimarron that offers 1.5 times pay for overtime.
Key Duties:
- Develop hydraulic calculations for pumps, compressors, control valves, and line sizing including complex configurations.
- Design flare systems, including developing from scratch flare network configuration and sizing.
- Develop and review PSV inlet lateral sizing calculations.
- Design Pressure and Temperature Diagrams (DPDTs) to analyze and determine piping systems design conditions.
- Develop and review Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Develop and review Line Designation Tables (LDTs), including line lists with the process and mechanical design conditions captured.
- Develop scoping documents such as equipment list, PSV list, and Specialty Piping (SP) Items list.
- Execute 3D Model reviews, including organizing and running a review of the physical design of systems.
- Execute the vendor print review, including commenting on deviations from a set of technical design criteria provided to a vendor.
- Execute the HazOp review, including organizing technical documentation and participating in a hazard and operability review of a system.
- Develop Speciality Piping (SP) items and Relief Valve datasheets, and define a set of technical criteria and conditions for vendors to use to design engineered items.
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility requirements, only U.S. Citizens or permanent citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Excellent knowledge of technical theory, engineering principles, good engineering practices, and how to apply them for design execution.
- Familiarity with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes.
- Previous hydraulic calculation experience.
- Experience in all areas listed in the "Key Duties" section.
- Professional Engineer license (PE), or willingness to complete.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, and 8 or more years of experience.
Additional Required Skills, Experience, and Education for Senior-level:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, and 15 or more years of experience.
