What You'll Do
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for driving technical execution of Munchkin's portfolio of products from concept through production ensuring performance, cost, quality, and schedule adherence. This role will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.

This position offers an "alternative work week" schedule where an employee works from the office daily, 9- hour days on Monday - Thursday, and on Friday's ending the workday by 1:00 pm.
Salary range: $90,000-$120,000

What You'll Do
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for driving technical execution of Munchkin's portfolio of products from concept through production ensuring performance, cost, quality, and schedule adherence. This role will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.
- Develop, design and translate product concept to a defined product, including project management and resolving technical issues
- Work with US Product Design and Hong Kong Engineering Teams as well as vendors on the following areas:
- Product development from concepts to production
- Review, evaluate and generate feasibility studies on product designs
- Direct model makers on prototype building
- Manage preliminary costing against development efforts and provide cost saving studies
- Oversee tooling construction and layout, follow tooling through debug and into production
- Manage the product development schedule to meet the development milestones
- Co-ordinate with design and QA to set functional specifications
- Potential to manage EP, FEP, PP and PS with North American factories up through first shipment
- Plans and implements engineering projects, including defining the project philosophy, activities, and milestones, per customer requirements, including costing objectives
- Provides updates on the status of project milestones and negotiates schedules accordingly under expedited timelines
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget
- Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, engineering documents, and costing information
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
- Directs integration of technical activities and products
- Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Interfaces with internal customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met
- Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.

Bring It!
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum seven years related work experience in development and manufacturing of consumer hardgoods, such as infant/toddler products, appliances, housewares, toys, sporting equipment, etc.
- Desired manufacturing experience:
- Injection molding
- Blow molding
- Roto molding
- Liquid injection molding
- Compression molding
- Metal forming, stamping and assembly
- Film extrusion and processing
- Softgoods experience
- Electronics experience
- Experience with engineering drawings, MS Office and photo-editing software
- Proficiency in SolidWorks to generate solutions and review work of others is a must
- Fluency in written and oral communication skills in English. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus
- Must be a self-motivated, proactive, problem-solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel domestically (North America) and internationally (Asia) up to 15% of the year
- Ability to work past 5:00 p.m. to communicate optimally with global teams in Hong Kong
