Donaldson Company, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Project Engineer based in Bloomington, MN. The primary duty of the Senior Project Engineer is to plan future products by engaging with customers and assimilating next-generation filtration technologies with industry trends to conceptualize and develop new products that keep the company in its leading position with the filtration manufacturing industry.

This position serves as lead on designing (from concept through production), prototyping, testing and working with manufacturing teams in China and Thailand to go through production phase of filters based on customers' needs.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage regular customer conference calls to track projects and be the main point of contact for the customer engineering team
• Provide tracking spreadsheet and lead every other week update with the factory and sales team
• Manage customer cleanliness and performance testing with labs both internal and external. Run testing of parts as needed
• Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) responses to new customer drawings in a timely fashion
• Lead interactions with customer in manufacturing desirable filters for hard disk drives
• Provide engineering drawings to factories and request costed Bill of Materials (BOM) to then review with sales
• Provide project updates to management team for review and approval
• Travel for customer and factory visits as needed
• Tools and technologies utilized by the Senior Project Engineer include 3D-CAD tool Uni-graphics (NX-11) for designing and drawing creation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field
• Five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a manufacturing or design engineering position.
• Experience must include four years of experience, which may be concurrent, with all of the following: 1.) Designing (from concept through production), prototyping, testing and working with manufacturing teams to go through production phase of filters based on customers' needs. 2.) Managing regular customer conference calls to track projects and be the main point of contact for the customer engineering team. 3.) Providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) responses to new customer drawings in a timely fashion. 4.) 3D design and drawing using Uni-graphics. All experience may have been gained concurrently.

Experience must have been acquired after completion of the Bachelor's Degree program.

Travel

• Domestic and international travel required 10% of the time.
