Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer IV to be based in Phoenix, Arizona or Tucson, Arizona.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team. Analyzes complex technical issues and guides solutions to challenging issues within a team within their function, business unit or technical discipline, using standard operating procedures/methodologies as a basis and defining new procedures and methods as needed
  • Leads proposal efforts for geotechnical engineering services including scope, schedule and budget.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Mentoring and technical development of Geotechnical staff. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Develops the Engineers cost estimates for projects.
  • Project Manager for Geotechnical projects or Geotechnical component of large projects - in charge of tracking scope, schedule and budget
  • Business development for new and existing clients
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering
  • 6+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • PE license required.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology preferred.
  • 12+ years of related experience in Geotechnical Engineering projects.
  • Solid understanding of performing and managing field work
  • Ability to manage projects within budget, scope & schedule as well as effectively managing engineering staff as assigned.
  • The ability to work well within a team
