POSITION OVERVIEW 

A rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company, Alarm.com, is seeking a motivated Sr Project Manager who wants to be part of a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization. The Sr Project Manager role is perfect for candidates who want to participate in developing the back-office capabilities required to facilitate the next generation of Alarm.com’s business model. Very few small companies innovate and develop across such a broad range of technologies as Alarm.com. This position is ideal for the candidate who seeks a small, friendly company culture where one can work closely with smart and highly productive people across a very interesting spectrum of wireless, software, and hardware/device technologies to develop outstanding consumer products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with finance, accounting, supply chain, strategy, engineering, quality, and product management leads to manage a portfolio of technology projects and company resources across multiple projects.
  • Improving Alarm.com’s overall performance through the development of solutions to streamline back-office functionality and the enablement of new business models.
  • Facilitating proper cross-functional allocation of team staffing toward strategic priorities.
  • Driving improvements in development team operation by recognizing areas of opportunity, developing strategies to address them, and leading implementation of changes.
  • Defining and measuring project milestones, effectively prioritizing deliverables, and managing cross-project, cross-team dependencies to meet team-wide delivery goals.
  • Developing, defining, and driving project management best practices across a large product development team
  • Administering, tailoring, and implementing project management tools, including the Atlassian software suite, to optimize team operation.
  • Collaborating and coordinating across other internal teams within the organization to ensure the success of Alarm.com’s technical programs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. or B.A. from a competitive school with strong academic performance, technical degree preferred
  • 5-10 years overall work experience within software development teams; experience with back-office program or project management a plus (finance, supply chain, accounting, operations, etc.)
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate others and build consensus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally across a diverse set of perspectives and areas of expertise
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a small, fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills, including in-depth experience leveraging project management software; familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence or similar project management tools.
  • Passion for consumer technology and interest in developing a deep understanding of complex products and technologies
  • General knowledge of business, technology, economics and/or finance
  • Ability to understand group dynamics and psychology
