Independent Advisor Software group offers innovative and differentiated products and services for the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) market. Our all-in-one portfolio accounting and practice management platform, Morningstar Office supports RIA's day-to-day activities with our billing, performance reporting, back-office services, rebalancing, and account aggregation capabilities, powered by Morningstar's independent data and research.
The Office team is looking for a Senior Project Manager who is highly collaborative, detail orientated and self-directed to join our team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will manage critical projects working in a highly collaborative environment with product management, technology, design, and operations globally to ensure successful delivery.
An ideal candidate has a strong background coordinating the work of development teams and deep experience using and coaching Agile methods like Scrum. Experience owning, planning, and driving complex projects across multiple teams, including the oversight of multiple project plans and key metrics, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment is critical. This position is based out of our Chicago or Toronto office.
Job Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the product and services offered within Direct
• Create and oversee project timelines, tasks/responsibilities, and deliverables for assigned projects working with various global delivery teams on implementation
• Communicate regular project updates across all stakeholder groups
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks
• Work with external and internal project stakeholders to define and document project scope, detailed functional, non-functional, and technical requirements when needed
• Collaborate with groups throughout Morningstar to proactively manage dependencies
• Understand, adopt, and drive Morningstar's Agile Scrum framework
• Serve as Scrum Master and work with team members to resolve issues and eliminate roadblocks
• Cultivate a culture of team collaboration globally
• Analyze key metrics impacting the velocity/performance /progress of initiatives
• Focus on continuous process improvement through feedback loops, coaching, retrospectives, and individual improvement to help the team achieve optimal performance

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is required
• 5+ years of project management experience
• A demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently in different phases
• Experience with traditional and agile project-management frameworks
• Strong knowledge of Agile practices including demonstrated experience in applying an Agile mindset
• Effective in promoting a collaborative environment with global cross-functional teams
• Strong leadership, communication, time management, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to influence decision-making processes and foster an environment of healthy team debate
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and can keep a team on track in meeting business objectives
