Senior Project Manager

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Managerfor our Houston, TX office. The Energy Team supports clients in their efforts to decarbonize the industry by developing and implementing initiatives to reduce CO2 footprint. The use of hydrogen or ammonia will play a key role in the decarbonization process by providing clean energy carriers to the industry. The goal is to advance WSP position in the hydrogen economy by leveraging our current leadership position in the energy storage sector and expand our presence in surface related facilities such as electrolysers plants and green ammonia to provide renewable energy sources to the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform project/program management activities for a large number of projects in the energy sector.
• Manage budgets, cost control, and invoicing oversight for the projects.
• Manage and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project or equivalent software.
• Participate in proposal writing efforts to support business development efforts.
• Complete high-quality deliverables on-time within project scope-of-work and budgeted hours.
• Work with multidisciplinary team of geologists, engineers, budget specialists, and administrative assistants to deliver successful projects.
• Mentor junior staff in practice of engineering and project management.
• Provide customer support and maintain strategic client relationships.
• Work closely with the Procurement Team to lead procurement management plans for large projects.
• Develop business plans for different components of the hydrogen economy.
• Work closely with other business areas (Transportation, Water and Environment) to support the usage of hydrogen in different sectors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical or Process Engineering or equivalent engineering field.
• 10-20 years of experience working in relevant sectors
• Previously management or leadership experience
• Specific work experience in project management, preferably in the Energy sector.
• Specific work experience in preparing large, complex proposal involving engineering, construction activities and commissioning.
• Previous experience managing procurement plans for EPC or EPCM contracts.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

• This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. " should be included as a basic qualification.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Sustainability or Environmental studies
• Previous experience in the Energy sector and with hydrogen related projects.
• Previous experience in business operations and analytics
