Job Overview:
The APTIM Federal Services, LLC team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage renovation and reconstruction of DoD facilities at various Mid-Atlantic Department of Defense facilities. The selected candidate will be responsible for management of all phases the project, being the individual with the ultimate responsibility for the project outcome. Responsibilities generally include management of project engineering, procurement, construction and /or operations. Directs preparation of work plans, supervises project teams, and manages project scope, budget, and schedule. This position will be part of an operations team and will work on specialized projects in a fast paced and dynamic environment. It is anticipated that the first opportunity will be a 1-year commitment and will require onsite presence on a DoD installation in the Mid-Atlantic region by the Senior Project Manager daily. Travel allowance will be part of the assignment if candidate is not local to the Area. The position has the potential for growth and career advancement within the APTIM special projects team.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Document management to include producing, reviewing, and tracking submittals and RFIs
- Assist in preparing and updating all assigned project schedules, including subcontractors and material deliveries
- Assist in pre-construction activities including take-offs, bid solicitation, bid review and assembly of final project budget
- Attend and participate in project meetings.
- Inspect documents for accuracy against project drawings and specifications
- Assist in identifying conflicts and work to find and implement solutions
- Help to enforce the company safety and quality standards
- Produce status reports
- Responsible for all phases of planning and execution on small projects as defined by low potential risk, complexity, manpower requirements and/or contract value
- Monitors and implements project safety and quality programs.
- Supervises daily activities of project personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
- Daily interaction with Contracting Officers Representative
- Daily cost tracking and reporting (with support from project controls) to accurately report variances and progress against budget to the Client.
- Strategy and approach development to provide best value solutions pre-and post award on projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering, Physical Science or Construction Technology/Management is preferred.
- 10-15 Years' Experience related to building vertical construction and renovation
- Experience managing projects more than $50M.
- Applies knowledge and skills to complete own work.
- Understanding of both Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable type contracting
- Ability to work in a fast paced, focused environment and the ability to manage changed conditions
- Understands relationships between work processes and the business.
- Is aware of costs related to own work.
- Organizes own work to meet deadlines set by others.
- Communicates information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
- Builds team effectiveness skills within own work team.
- Proficient in MS Office with emphasis in Microsoft Excel
