Position Details
- The Sr. Project Manager role coordinates and manages various development projects through all phases of the development lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, release and closing. The Sr. Project Manager will manage stakeholder communications, project requirements, work breakdown, development engineering, testing and release. Project management responsibilities include scheduling and planning across multiple functional areas, coordinating internal and external development and test resources and working with resource managers and other project managers to insure proper staffing, project alignment and integration. The Sr. Project Manager will own the project responsibility for the definition and clear communication of project priorities, delivery of project expectations, and identifying and mitigating issues and risks among a cross-functional project team, all while representing the best interest of the business unit.
- The Sr. Project Manager role may, at times, assist in the development of business and marketing strategies optimizing the performance of new and existing product lines to achieve business objectives. This requires the project manager to maintain an understanding of the BU's business practices (program management, portfolio plans, strategy, etc.) and provide input to program management, product management and the engineering organizations in regards to technical staff coordination, resource allocation, performance feedback and development planning.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the overall project success through the full product lifecycle, from concept through release. Success is measured by achieving the project goals on time, within product cost targets and quality standards, including meeting functional and performance requirements.
- Lead and manage the development and release to production of new products/services through the application of a Common New Services stage-gate process to achieve timely product release.
- Apply rigorous planning for scope definition, cost estimation, scheduling, resource utilization, and overall risk management.
- Understand various technologies used in the product development, including their implications and associated risks. The ability to understand, articulate and plan the interfaces between various architectural pieces is an important aspect of this role.
- Monitor and track project key milestones, timeline, and budget.
- Identify, mitigate, and communicate project issues, risks, and status to team members and stakeholders.
- Report to business management and senior management on progress while ensuring the project commitments are achieved.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a Project Management Role
- PMP certification
- Lean Six Sigma or Greenbelt Certification, or 3+ years of process improvement experience
- Strong understanding of Change Management processes and ADKAR methodology
- Proven success driving projects to completion with little direction
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, details and moving parts
- Ability to communicate and present to various levels of the organization including leadership, stakeholders, SME's, and other
- Previous experience managing technology projects such as SaaS or IaaS
- Similar industry experience such as technical knowledge in industrial controls, new product design, hardware/software, product testing, manufacturing and/or continuation & product life cycle engineering, is a plus.
