Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, and motivated Project Manager for immediate employment for the Milwaukee, WI office. Responsibilities will include the oversight and management of active projects and project teams, and business development. Projects may include roadways/highways, bridges, utilities, and misc. facilities related to transportation or infrastructure projects for a range of prospective clients, including WisDOT, Milwaukee, and other counties and municipalities as well. Projects may also include alternative delivery methodologies.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with others and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to support business development, marketing and communications, capture management, project delivery and strategy. The ideal person must be able to verbally and visually communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborates with others with the ability to make autonomous decisions guided by policies, procedures and business objectives
  • Accountable for the results of the team or the process establishing goals and objectives and adherence to budget
  • Identifies trends, issues and opportunities for their area of the business, industry, service line or process
  • Ability to solve complex issues with limited direction
  • Carries out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures
  • Effective management approach to retain and motivate a team, and to mentor and develop staff
  • Demonstrates innovation to deliver technical and operational excellence
  • Oversees the administration and execution of projects including technical, financial, safety, quality and client satisfaction objectives.
  • Actively involved with clients and business development
  • Conducts peer reviews and/or makes technical presentations
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Existing relationships within the transportation community in Wisconsin, and active involvement in local professional organizations
  • Experience in project management, business development, and strong existing relationships with transportation agencies in Wisconsin
  • Experience with WisDOT, including in the SE Region
  • Strong understanding of best practices in capture process for professional services
  • Demonstrated knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
  • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
  • Alternative delivery experience a plus
