Senior Project Manager

This role sits at the center of cross-continental software delivery, ensuring smooth execution between engineering teams in India and leadership based in the United States. You will own end-to-end release management, coordinate Agile delivery, and drive alignment across product, engineering, and QA in a fast-paced startup environment. Acting as the key operational bridge, you will ensure that priorities are clearly executed, risks are surfaced early, and releases are delivered with confidence and quality. The role requires strong technical understanding, sharp execution instincts, and the ability to operate effectively across distributed teams and time zones. You will play a critical role in maintaining sprint health, improving delivery processes, and enabling predictable engineering outcomes. This is a highly visible position where your decisions directly impact release success and team performance.

You will be responsible for driving release execution, Agile delivery, and cross-functional coordination across distributed engineering teams, ensuring predictable and high-quality software delivery. This includes acting as the operational backbone between India-based engineering and US leadership while safeguarding sprint integrity and release readiness.

• Own the end-to-end release lifecycle for India engineering teams, from sprint planning through deployment
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and release planning
• Partner with QA and engineering leads to assess release readiness, test coverage, and rollback decisions
• Track sprint health, manage Jira workflows, and ensure Confluence documentation accuracy
• Monitor delivery risks, blockers, and dependencies, escalating proactively to US leadership
• Coordinate with product managers to evaluate and prioritize incoming work and prevent scope creep
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, including ticket hygiene, SLA adherence, and workflow efficiency
• Serve as the communication bridge between distributed engineering teams and leadership stakeholders

Requirements:

You bring strong project and program management experience in software delivery environments, with the ability to operate confidently in Agile, fast-moving startup contexts. You combine technical understanding with strong communication skills and the ability to manage distributed teams across India and the United States.

• 6–9 years of experience in project management or technical program management
• Proven experience managing software engineering teams or delivery programs
• Strong hands-on expertise with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including sprint and release management
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for tracking, documentation, and reporting
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, with strong asynchronous collaboration skills
• Technical background or engineering experience enabling strong technical judgment and empathy
• Ability to evaluate PRD readiness, release safety, test coverage, and rollback decisions
• Experience working in startups or high-growth SaaS environments
• Strong coordination skills across globally distributed, multi-time-zone teams
