Summary
The senior marketing project manager orchestrates the work of the project team end-to-end from concept ideation through asset delivery and performance monitoring for creative projects. The project manager demonstrates the ability to apply the elements of the project management discipline at the level of rigor appropriate to the project.
The marketing project manager has a strong background in project management, as well as an understanding of marketing workflows associated with building, launching and monitoring campaigns. This position directs the work through internal and external partners to plan and execute projects and monitor performance. Ensures results contribute positive business value to the project stakeholders. Builds positive relationships with the project team members and fosters teamwork through effective collaboration and coordination.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Directs marketing projects, including but not limited to integrated and multi-channel campaigns, presentation collateral, brand collateral, banking center open/closures
- Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan, including tracking tasks and dependencies
- Assigns and engages the appropriate resources throughout the project lifecycle, while working in tandem with other leaders for resource scheduling
- Conduit of communication with all levels of executive leadership, project stakeholders and core team members
- Proactively identify project risks and formulate strategies to mitigate them
- Maintain project status documents and lead project meetings
- Follow up with task owners on status and work to remove roadblocks
- Ensure teams follow defined processes and coordinate accordingly
- Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
- Propose recommendations and adjustments
- Lead and assist team with paralleling work through phases
- Maintain and track projects in the Collaborative Work Management platform
- Adopt new frameworks that optimize performance, communication and efficiency
Qualifications Include
- 7+ years Project Management experience, Marketing or Agency experience a plus
- 7+ years of experience working with creative teams and extensive knowledge of the creative process and language preferred
- Experience working with digital media teams and timelines, including Agency and other partners preferred
- Strong project management fundamentals including project scoping, risk analysis & mitigation strategies and change management and other related project controls
- Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize your own and others' work in a deadline-driven atmosphere
- Capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for critical and strategic thinking
- Must be comfortable handling multiple projects at once
- Ability to direct work of others
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations
- Strong meeting facilitation and negotiation skills
- Must be comfortable communicating with team members, the Agency and other vendors about related topics
- Experience with Collaborative Work Management platforms
