Job Description
The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager working from our Huntsville, AL facility. The potential candidate will assist the Program Manager in directing the project life cycle by assisting in development of comprehensive project plans to include both long and short-range goals and milestones. The ideal candidate will identify, acquire, and utilize company resources to achieve project technical objectives. He/she will direct a DoD project team, monitoring and encouraging team members to complete milestones within specific budgets and schedules. This candidate will on occasion interface with external customers as well as top management for the purpose of communicating status of project throughout life cycle. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and ten to twelve years of related experience.
Essential Functions:
- Provide required support, to include program/project management and logistical services to a level of detail necessary to ensure that all government requirements are met.

- Excellent Communication Skills
- Work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects with evolving requirements
- Take initiative to advance program, projects and build approaches to meeting objectives with only minimal direction
- Record, monitor and report status of tasks and activities
- Develop project management plans, requirements documentation and reports.
- Assist in the preparation of acquisition documentation associated with Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal for Force Protection Systems and related technology.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Must be a US Citizen
- 10-12 years of direct DoD project management related experience
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written
- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense
Preferred Skills:
- A PMI PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred
- Proven track record with DoD acquisition, systems engineering and program management support across multiple programs and portfolios
- Expertise in DoD roles and missions, and organizational structure
- Innovative and fresh thinking with a 'can do' attitude
- Ability to manage and prioritize numerous concurrent assignments
- Organized individual, with prioritization and time management skills
- Contracts, Safety, or Environmental Compliance experience
- Military or commercial quality practices such as ISO-9000 or MIL-Q-9858
- Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense
