About the position:
Jobs for the Future (JFF) is looking for a Senior Project Manager, Marketing & Communications to join our growing centralized Marketing & Communications (MarComm) team. The Marketing and Communications team is rapidly expanding to meet the needs of its internal and external constituents and to maximize its potential to be a strategic partner to its key stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Project Management, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for excellent delivery on their assigned projects. Part of the job is having a deep understanding and respect for process. Specifically, the Senior Project Manager will build and manage communication project plans to ensure external and internal partners are engaged at a high level and that projects are completed within budget and deadlines. This person will manage assigned projects end-to-end; providing oversight, strategies, and support in creating new processes and tactics to ensure the success of our marketing efforts. All of this will be done with guidance and mentorship to help this individual grow in their career.

This position is integral to the continued growth and success of the MarComm team.
What you'll do:
Project Management & Process Improvement
- Consult with communications managers to strategically develop project plans, resource assignments, estimates and project timelines for funded deliverables by monitoring and evaluating project plans, tasks, resources, deadlines, and any post-project needs to accomplish project goals
- Manage projects from initiation, to kick-off, execution, and completion which includes managing timelines, workflow, communications, production of deliverables, and other aspects of project execution
- Make strategic use of knowledge management and project management tools such as Asana, and other similar tools
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing Project Management to elevate project management process and trends across the team and lead training for other project managers
- Manage vendors and/or external consultants to execute on commitments, as required
- Oversee production workflow for the Marketing Project Management team, including oversight of assignments to other Project Managers, leading process reviews as well as innovation brainstorming, and ensuring project management quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality support to JFF teams
- Collaborate with other Marcomm colleagues/resources to implement ongoing organizational training on how to leverage our brand effectively from a project management perspective
Relationship Building and Stakeholder Engagement
- Quickly build trust and rapport with JFF colleagues, within the Marcomm team and across JFF, as well as external stakeholders with an eye towards delivering best in class customer service
- Organize and facilitate meetings of diverse stakeholders across JFF to define project objectives, resource requirements, timing, and deliverables in support of organizational goals
- Develop, manage, and communicate project expectations, updates, and milestones such as status and progress reports, roadblocks/contingency plans, retrospectives, etc. to key stakeholders
Reporting & Analysis
- Estimate costs for projects, track, and report on budget versus actual, ensuring we minimize the need for write-offs, by managing scope creep and accurate estimation
- Manage resource requirements and allocations for projects, as well as tracking and analyzing resource utilization
- Coordinate and lead project retrospectives to identify areas for improvement
Who you are:
- You possess high energy and passion for JFF’s mission and the ability to apply JFF’s core values to all areas of your work
- You have approximately 5-7 years of overall experience and have previously worked in a project management role within a marketing agency and/or communications setting
- You are skilled in driving marketing and communications projects and are comfortable making projects happen across social, web, activation, video, and strategy
- You have exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, with the judgment to manage competing priorities, and an ability to track and drive forward varied, fluid workstreams
- You are an innovative problem-solver that can think critically, navigate ambiguity, and inspire and motivate teams to deliver impactful work in an environment that is rapidly changing priorities due to new opportunities
- You are a flexible self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to seamlessly pivot between being an individual contributor and working in close collaboration with teammates and cross-functional stakeholders; you know when to pull in others for their expertise and how to manage up and across in order to complete projects with competing deadlines
- You enjoy leading marketing projects while coaching and supporting the development of others within your team
- You enjoy analyzing data and leveraging reporting tools to ensure that you and others have the tools and information needed to make data-driven business decisions
- You have experience with Project Management tools such as Workfront, Asana or similar tools (Asana experience preferred, but not required
- You have some formal experience or training in project management methodologies such as traditional waterfall, agile or hybrid methodologies

- You are able and willing to travel up to 10%. This includes traveling to the Boston office up to 3 times per year to meet with the Marcomm team and participate in both team and organizational retreats, as needed. You may also travel to up to 2 times a year for large JFF lead events which you might have collaborated in as the lead marketing project managers (Note: JFF requires Covid vaccination for all work-related travel.)
