About the Department
You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk's 50,000 employees.
FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. The Position
Provides direction, leads & manages the development & implementation of future Production Support area to include Facilities, EHS, Metrology, Site Services, Utilities... via technical and functional staff. Location & technical solutions must be defined to best suit NN needs. This position will be responsible for building the strategic organization to support the design, construction and implementation of the new site through release and turnover to system owner. Incumbent will be a key role integrated into the project management and execution team managing strategic expansion projects through oversight of an organization comprised of large project team to include NNPILP Full-time Employees & Contractors.

Reports to Project Vice President.
Essential Functions
- Leads, directs & coordinates teams as part of expansion projects in the development of the implementation plan & project timelines
- Identifies & develops working relationships with affected customers at all levels; ensures that customer representatives are kept appropriately informed of project activities & are encouraged to participate as appropriate
- Participates in the management team driving site strategy and solutions for Site expansions
- Collaborates with both local and global teams to ensure successful design and delivery & start-up of new facility
- Directs and leads the project safety team ensuring project-related execution is performed under Novo Nordisk EHS standards, to include ensuring external contractors are also operating under the same standards
- Advises process teams representing customer needs regarding cross-functional considerations, workflow integration & coordination, & optimization of best practices
- Provides timely communication with & between project & customer management at critical points in the implementation of the project plan
- Ensures adherence to project timelines, meeting targets & expectations, drives adherence to established operating parameters and negotiates changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives & timelines
- Designs, establishes, & maintains an organizational structure & staffing to effectively accomplish the goals & objectives of the project, &; recruits, trains, oversees, & deploys technical & functional staff
- Develops & manages the transition work plans for all project team members, to include transition into the project & back to home departments upon completion
- Oversees the supervision of project personnel, to include work allocation, training, & problem solution; evaluating performance & making recommendations for personnel actions; and motivating employees to achieve peak productivity & performance
- Develops & manages project budgets & performs periodic cost & productivity analyses
- Ensures project managers follow PS Shopfloor processes. Guides & coaches as necessary
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.
Development of People
Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Economics/Business Administration from an accredited university required
- May consider an associate's degree from an accredited university with 12 (twelve) years of proven & successful project management and/or facilities management experience required
- May consider a High School Diploma (GED) with 14 (fourteen) years of proven & successful project management and/or facilities management experience required
- Advanced Project Management competencies obtained through relevant PM training or experience required
- Minimum of ten (10) years of proven & successful project management and/or management experience required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of direct supervisory experience required
- Skill in organizing resources & establishing priorities required
- Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment required
- Ability to supervise & train employees, including organization, prioritizing & scheduling work assignments required
- Knowledge of organizational structure, staffing patterns & job design required
- Budget preparation & fiscal management required
- Advanced knowledge & understanding of core business & operating systems, policies, procedures required
- Advanced verbal & written communication skills required
- Ability to identify & assess business needs & coordinate effective operating & systems solutions required
- Skill in workflow analysis & management required
- Employee development & performance management skills required
- Highly organized, capable of managing various details & focus for tasks required
- Knowledgeable in core work processes & GMP concepts required
- Understanding of complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts required
- Demonstrates functional/business understanding as well as superior written & oral communication skills required
- Extensive knowledge of project management including the ability to create work plans & detailed project schedules required
- Proficient in problem solving, negotiation, conflict management & interpersonal skills required
- Ability to act as project lead & lead cross functional project teams in the development & implementation of projects required
- Ability to influence others on objectives & projects outcomes required
- Basic understanding of contractual documents required
- Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID's required
- Thorough understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT & Validation Protocols required
- Proven expertise in mentoring & development of people leaders, change management, planning & organizing, managing execution, & revising work plans for complex issues addressed by cross-functional teams preferred
