What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Project Manager (Information Systems) with RBC Wealth Management you will, plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned technical projects to ensure project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved timeframe, scope and budget. Manages projects with moderate level of value (benefit/cost), and at least a high level of complexity and uncertainty OR manages projects (as part of a Program) with high level of value (benefit/cost), and high or lower level of complexity and uncertainty.
What will you do?
- Plan and executes Information Technologies IT projects with moderate level of value (benefit/cost), and at least a high level of complexity and uncertainty including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics / assumptions.
- Seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches and/or solutions.
- Facilitate joint planning with the client in the early stages of project formation on the IT side incorporating technical requirements and system functionality
- Develop integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; documents estimating assumptions, refines plans and manages performance against them.
- Identify and manage project costs and budgets anticipating operational and some tactical risks.
- Facilitate schedule and cost forecasting; mentor project managers in determining risk based provision as the IT Sr. PM.
- Provide senior management with timely updates on project issues. Identify resources and skills required.
- Provide superior client experience and strengthen relationships with all key stakeholders
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 5-7 years' of IT project-related experience in Information Systems - ideally with a background in Securities Base Lending Management
- Experience managing projects with moderate level of value (benefit/cost), and at least a high level of complexity and uncertainty
- Advanced project management knowledge including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, analyzing, and reporting; risk assessment and quantification methodologies; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management
- Advanced people management knowledge including talent management process (recruitment / selection, performance management, performance development / coaching, reward / recognition)
Nice to Have
- End-to-end project management using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Securities Based Lending experience or knowledge
- Experience with SuperNova Lending Software, MIS, Planview
- Background in IT and/or Business project management in financial services/credit/lending
