As the Sr. Project Manager, Technology you will manage multiple, concurrent, and highly complex IT projects and/or programs to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions in support of XPO business objectives. You will serve as the projects primary point of contact between IT, business operations, external clients, internal business partners and vendors. You will manage and be accountable for the project scope, schedule, budget, quality, communication, risk management, and issue management. You will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of project management best practices and strategies for XPO HR Systems along with providing guidance and procedural direction to other project managers.

What you will do on a typical day:
- Manage the projects assigned to you to ensure tasks are on track, document and track and risks and issues. Keep manager updated on any risks or issues.
- Open Jira tickets and keep due dates current.
- Ensures projects are set up in the time tracking tool and that Capital/Deferred/Expense activities are identified correctly, and resources assigned appropriately.
- Ensure documentation for HR Apps team processes are current.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 2 years' experience as an IT Project Manager and combined experience below:
- Application of waterfall and or Agile project management methodologies.
- Proven experience managing multiple, concurrent, and highly complex IT projects within budget and scope.
- Proven experience managing the acquisition process to obtain goods and services required for the project, such as procurement planning, RFI/RFP preparation, source selection, and contract negotiation and administration.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal senior management. Solid active listening, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates group presentation skills and excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization.
- Superior interpersonal, conflict resolution and risk management skills.
- Be able to prioritize regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame.
- Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with offshore and onshore team members in different time zones.
- Business acumen and understanding of business drivers and issues surrounding a project.
- Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Produces unambiguous, comprehensive, and accurate interpretations.
It would be great if you also have:
- 4+ years' experience as an IT Project Manager
- Cross functional business experience including one or more of the following: technical project management, HR Systems, transportation management and IT solutions development. Experience with vendor management desired.
- Direct project management experience on medium to large IT projects with large projects (10 or more people for 9 or more months) being the norm over the past 2 years. This includes working within a defined project management methodology and standard practices.
- PMP certification
- Experience using Jira
