You will add strength to our propulsion technician team. Ursa Major Technologies is looking for an experienced, quick-learning aerospace/aviation technician with both mechanical and avionics experience to support rocket engine subcomponent assembly. You will excel working on aerospace hardware, engine subassemblies, avionics components, and test equipment. You will operate in a dynamic environment that accomplishes team goals. You should expect a large amount of collaboration with several Engineering and Manufacturing disciplines supporting both production and development programs.
 
It is crucial that all Manufacturing team members, especially technicians, attain a base level of experience. Initial responsibilities will include building, cleaning, and testing subassemblies. You will report to our Master of Subassembly Operations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Rocket engine and subassembly builds, proofs, flows, and ATPs.
  • Interpret complex PCB schematics, cable harnesses, and wiring diagrams. 
  • Aerospace-level hardware cleaning.
  • Support Build Operations team in efforts to accomplish production goals. 
  • Complete work order documentation and creation alongside hardware assembly.
  • Document test systems and wiring diagrams based on test equipment selected by engineering. 
  • Support avionics and manufacturing teams with all development requests. 
  • Perform verification of flight hardware and complete work order documentation in precise and complete manner. 
  • Non-engine shop work and shop organization (machining, tube bending, 5S, maintenance, and so forth).
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 10 years in aerospace or similar field.
  • Hands on experience with basic electronics equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc). 
  • A&P certification is a plus.
  • Basic hand tool and powered tool use.
  • Experience with PCBA soldering high density IC packages, jumper installation, and de-bugging. 
  • Experience with high precision and tight tolerance hardware assembly.
  • Hands on experience with harness fabrication, electro-mechanical assemblies, and prototype development. 
  • Experience cleaning and building hardware compatible with liquid oxygen various hazardous chemicals.
  • Previous or current certifications within NASA STD 8739.4, IPC-620, AND J-STD-001 standards

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $75,000 - $100,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
