Job Purpose:

The Senior Purchaser will responsible in procuring goods and services for Fugro India, collaborating with the Technical Manager, BLM, IT Manager, Logistics and Admin Manager to identify requirements and ensure timely delivery. Additionally, the Purchaser will work with the Country Financial Controller to secure funds for equipment and spares, and manage the budgeting system. Coordination with the Operations team is also essential to complete the Avalon process, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Purchase process and policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
• Control purchasing department budgets.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability.
• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
• Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
• Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
• Administer on-line purchasing systems.
• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
• Preferably 4-8 years of experience in procurement and purchasing.

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
