We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pyrotechnic Engineer to join our team.
What you'll do all day:
- Design electrical Ground Support Equipment used to test pyrotechnic components
- Manage a variety of tests throughout the entire project cycle
- Design new pyrotechnic GSE firing units
- Design specialty tools when needed
- Design electrical systems
- Troubleshoot hardware in the field or at the bench
- Maintain a high level of technical excellence to ensure the highest quality of technical products
- Must be willing to travel in a limited basis
- Perform other duties as required

Minimum requirements for this position:
Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related Master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience
- Experience working on NASA flight hardware - specifically pyrotechnics
- Experience with pyrotechnic GFE design
- 5 or more years of experience performing calibration on pyro firing units and other pyro GSE
- 10 or more years of experience operating pyrotechnic GSE
- Knowledge of operating pyrotechnic welding and loading equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired skills and experience for this position:
- Experience working with cryogenic fluids and systems
- Experience with pressure systems and associated components
- Experience with the operation of thermal chambers
- Knowledge of leak testing with Nitrogen and Helium using Varian leak detectors
- Experience working with a variety of explosives and propellants
- Ability to perform tasks with no or very limited supervision
