Senior QA Automation Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, implement, and expand our suite of automated testing and tools. As a member of the Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to verify and validate systems and features from the ground-up. Someone in this role will be expected to leverage their automation experience to ensure the highest quality of our products and test frameworks.

Your responsibilities won’t be limited to just designing and implementing automation. You will also have a big role to play in assisting with testing strategies, architecture design, and assessing the usability and continual improvement of our product to provide a remarkable user experience.

Responsibilities 

• Develop scalable, maintainable automation to ensure confidence in software releases
• Identify opportunities for automation within software processes to improve workflows and testing efficiency.
• Work with the product manager and utilize requirements documents to create test plans
• Take part in team meetings with engineering and product to stay informed on project status and automation needs
• Contribute in maintaining and expanding QA-developed tools and services
• Provide clear and detailed reports on test results, bugs, and potential systems enhancements
• Help build a culture where bugs and mistakes in Production are treated as opportunities to improve the platform.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a QA automation engineering role
• 5+ years of experience with Selenium, Appium, or other front-end testing tools
• 3+ years of experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages
• Fluent understanding of REST APIs
• Experience with SQL and performing database verifications
• Understanding of agile engineering processes that support the entire software development life cycle, including TDD/BDD, CI/CD and related build/test/deploy processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
• Previous experience working inside innovative, high-growth environments a plus
• Preferred local to the New York, Santa Monica or Seattle areas.  Remote for the right candidate.
