DUTIES:

• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle and implementation process, including driving the definition of improvements based on the business need and architectural improvements while adhering to software best practices. • Gather and analyze software requirements and develop code while adhering to software best practices for writing unit tests and conducting code reviews. • Meet with business partners to understand the business needs. • Follow Agile Serum methodologies and work with the product owner and business partners to understand the business needs by attending all Sprint ceremonies.• Responsible for the overall design of software solutions and automated testing framework by working closely with other lead software developers and architects to build out the new framework. • Design, build and test software applications. • Drive quality forward through automated testing. • Write Java integration tests using Cucumber or Karate, as part of the CI/CD pipeline.• Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality. • Responsible for improving software and process quality. • Position reports to Centene headquarters at 7700 Forsyth Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63105 and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. • Telecommuting permitted 100% of the time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or related and 4 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or related, and 2 years of relevant work experience.

In addition, experience with the following skills is required: (1) Developing and enhancing applications using object/functional-oriented Java 11+, Maven, Spring Boot, Spring-mvc, and REST; (2) Constructing and enhancing SQL queries, including complex multi-inner/outer-join queries, and CRUD operations using SQL; (3) Developing and enhancing Java unit test code, using modern JUnit and Mockito libraries; automate the measurement of, and achieve >= 80%, code coverage; (4) Creating new git projects in GitLab, and adhere to a proper git SDLC workflow, including branching, merging, tagging, and releasing; (5) Leading the design and development of rich Java-oriented and web-app-oriented integration testing code bases (using Cucumber, Karate, and Cypress); (6) Working at a lead level for the design, development, QA, and CI/CD aspects of high-quality software projects using modern architectural principles.

WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week [8:00 am to 5:00 pm]
