Senior QA Specialist

Job Description

This position acts as a key to maintain/improve the product quality of Advantest America Inc. (hereinafter, called AAI), and manufactured and shipped from AAI or contract manufacturers. That includes creating and improving related quality processes.

You will be working in product quality related matters throughout most of the products' lifecycle from design definition phase to actual AAI's customer operating phase such as participating new products' design reviews, organizing and scheduling products' inspections, helping team and manager to come up conclusion on product shipment approval in case of known issue, addressing continuous quality improvements, driving quality issue closure activities such as owing regular quality meeting and conducting failure analysis and reliability testing with cross functional teams.

Required to work with product design/engineering teams, production engineering teams, field service teams and suppliers/contract manufacturers. Therefore, smooth communication abilities are highly required. Even if the topic is an unfamiliar field, you need to consult with knowledgeable persons, grasp important subjects on the matters, and find out the direction to take. In that sense, flexibility and a positive attitude against studying unfamiliar subjects are highly required.

To address these tasks above efficiently, it's necessary to understand many areas, such as product hardware/software functions, history of quality issues, functions of key components, work instructions/control documents in production, system test diagnostic/test results. It's strongly preferable for the candidate to have abilities to plan/conduct basic trouble shootings and failure analysis in both hardware and software areas.

To communicate with related parties efficiently, skills for summarizing data comprehensively, creating materials with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint are mandatory.

The candidate should have the following job requirements;

• It's highly preferable to have an intermediate or high-level knowledge of evaluations and failure analysis for various levels. (from components to system level in hardware)
• Eger to learn something new
• Efficient knowledge in analysis methods such as diagnosis/test log analysis, X-ray, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), I-V curve tracing and other equipment to conduct failure reproduction experiments.
• Communicate fluently with internal teams (R D engineers, field support teams, production engineering teams) and key persons in QA groups in other regions, such as Japan, Irvine, California, Germany and Korea, etc. In addition to it, communicate efficiently with AAI contract manufacturers located in California, Malaysia, and Japan.
• Motivated to improve processes and tools continuously.
• Manage multiple tasks by clarifying priorities, difficulties, and problems in working these tasks.

Requirements

• Business trips to other locations. (including countries outside of the United States.)
• Familiar with basic electronics/mechanical parts.
• Skills of using Microsoft office tools efficiently.
• Following rules/procedures defined in HR documents and ISO documents.
• Work cross functionally, open minded with people in other functions
