Senior QA/Automation Engineer

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a QA/Automation Engineer you will be a part of the Software testing team for an IBM Cyber resiliency product. You will work in an agile collaborative environment across software architecture understanding both client-side development as well as the server-side development.

Responsibilities:

• Establish test plans and test schedules for new releases and interim fixes.
• Create and execute test cases.
• Review test cases created by other teams.
• Raise the defects. Collaborating with developers as well as Support teams.
• Expand test automation using test automation framework.
• Plan and execute Currency tests.
• Ensure that overall testing is performed within the committed timeframe with good quality.
• Support and test for customer support cases.
• Work in a fast moving and forward-thinking development environment that is constantly researching and implementing using the latest technologies.
• Participate in and adhere to professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development Test Driven Development Continuous Integration Source Code Management (git) and GitHub. Ensure good code coverage.
• Create/maintain technical documentation. Hands on experience in handling and debugging customer issues work with L2 support team.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency with Computer Science/Software Engineering knowledge and contribute to the technical skills growth of other team members.
• Good team player.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 10+ years of experience in working as a QA Automation engineer on Linux.
• Good understanding of Agile methodology.
• Experience in working on a SaaS application with high industry standard CI/CD and development cycle processes.
• Good debugging and troubleshooting skills on Linux.
• Programming skills in Object Oriented Programming language like Java Python.
• Good Storage knowledge Virtualization Containerization (preferably OpenShift) Cloud.
• Experience with GitHub Jira Jenkins and Test management tools.
• Excellent communication coordination and organizational skills.
• Experience in leading diverse team members.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficient working with REST API’s
• Experience with web automation libraries such as Selenium
• Experience with unit test frameworks such as Junit/TestNG.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python/Javascript/Shell
• Experience in Backup/Data-protection.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms – AWS and IBM Cloud.
• Experience on VMware IBM Flash Systems or other disk system snapshot.
• Experience in testing SaaS applications databases.
• Networking/Security fundamentals.
