Senior QA/Test Engineer

The Role

CodingChiefs, a rising industry leader in technical staffing in the Philippines, is looking for a seasoned QA Engineer to be a part of an ambitious and energetic development team that has an established name in the field of smart software solutions.

The Responsibilities

• contributing to the overall test strategy and testing toolchain;

• testing features and bug fixes that are delivered by the software developers in the team, in line with the team’s sprint commitments;

• planning and executing testing efforts depending on the context in an agile environment in line with the strategy;

• analyzing functional and technical requirements, signaling of inconsistent, insufficient or illogical requirements;

• understanding business needs and strategy well enough to be able to perform exploratory testing efficiently;

• identifying and performing functional testing (both manual and automated), smoke and regression testing;

• taking ownership of recording and tracking defects, supporting engineers in reproducing and troubleshooting them;

• testing RESTful web services using Rest Assured framework;

• taking care of a consistent, structural improvement in the quality of the software delivered by the team, from a technical perspective and from the perspective of alignment between what is delivered vs. what is required.

The Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a manual and automation tester across the full spectrum of software test types and approaches.

• familiar with relevant tooling for developing, implementing and automating tests:

  • JUnit

  • CodeceptJS/Playwright

  • K6

  • exploratory testing

  • IT systems and testing processes

  • project management, SCRUM and Agile

• Experience with data-driven solutions that consist of a combination of back-end services, middle layer and front ends.

• Experience in the Logistics Industry is a big plus.

• ISTQB-, TMap- or Certified Agile Tester certification is a definite advantage

• Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving skills and able to work independently and autonomously.

• Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

• Travel to the Netherlands to work on location with our client when requested.

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Mathematics, Science & Technology or equivalent.
