The Senior Quality Analyst role is to assess software quality through manual testing and reports to the Director, Software Engineering. The position is primarily responsible for writing test plans and for testing software to find and report bugs. A keen eye for detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills is critical to the success of the role which is located in the headquarters location of Chesterfield, Missouri.
What You Will Do:
The Senior QA Analyst will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual testing, writing test plans and for testing software to find and report bugs. A keen eye for detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential for this position. This role will report to the Software Quality Manager.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience in software quality management processes
  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • 5+ years experience in developing test plans and test scenarios.
  • 2+ years experience creating and managing documentation.
  • Must have proven experience in communicating and collaborating with all levels of management.
  • Must possess initiative, results-oriented drive and a solid work ethic requiring minimal direction.
  • Ability to triage issues, identify root cause and conduct investigation into problems as needed.
  • Familiarity with regression testing, release testing, and/or troubleshooting system issues
  • Ability to clearly document complex business processes to the lowest level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to communicate detailed information with analysts, developers, and other support teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with ability to multitask and meet timelines.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership abilities in a collaborative environment.
  • Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Assist in ongoing process improvement efforts to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting methods are effective, efficient, standardized, coordinated, and integrated.
  • Assist in designing test strategies, developing test tools and implementing test cases to ensure the highest quality deliverable.
  • Able to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes, work independently in a fast paced environment

Preferred, but Not Required Skills:
  • Experience with Jira is a plus
  • General understanding of the landscape and lawn services business a plus
  • General understanding of business processes supported by software to be tested including sales, landscape estimating, purchasing, invoicing a plus
  • Working knowledge of SQL queries to view underlying data a plus
  • BS in Computer Science or related engineering field or strong relevant work experience in QA

Where You'll Work:
Our headquarters is located in Chesterfield in St. Louis County; however, some local positions will be remote until the time is right to return to the office while other roles are more office-based. Fully remote employees will stay remote.
