Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

As an AKQA Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest quality across multiple work streams. Your main responsibility is to work with project managers, creative leads, and other members of the development team to create and execute test strategies, negotiate test schedules, improve overall QA processes, and coordinate project outputs. You will leverage a variety of QA tools and technologies and be a champion of best practice QA thinking within the team.

This position is remote and is associated with the AKQA San Francisco studio.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

-Define and manage the QA process across multiple concurrent web projects

-Test responsive websites across different browsers and devices (desktop/mobile/tablet)

-Generate detailed test strategies which take into consideration multiple testing approaches

-Test case development and execution

-Establish accessibility guidelines and testing web experiences for WCAG / ADA compliance

-Define and ensure test coverage for non-functional requirements

-Provide work estimates and negotiate schedules

-Support global rollout of content to different GEOs

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

-7+ years’ experience testing large-scale, feature rich, websites at a digital agency or national/global brand

-Expertise in front-end web testing and comprehensive understanding of underlying technologies (HTML, CSS & JavaScript)

-Experience with accessibility on mobile / desktop and testing web experiences for WCAG  2.1 compliance, using both automated tools and manual approaches

-Expertise in web-related dev tools to aid documenting features and bugs via modern browsers’ Console, Sources, Network, Overrides and Application features

-Experience with testing websites for a wide range of modern mobile operating systems via both simulators or hardware devices is a must

-Testing 3rd party form integrations and/or syndicated content

-Experience with a broad range of browser-based debugging, inspection, and testing tools via Charles Proxy is a plus

-Validating websites against detailed design artifacts for pixel perfect layout and adherence to brand guidelines

-Experience testing site-wide analytics implementations at page, component, event and parameter level

-Experience defining a test matrix for responsive websites across a range of browsers, devices, and manufacturers 

-Experience testing websites with authentication/registration components

-Experience testing mixed-media content – (video/audio)

-Experience with MacOS Automator is a plus

-Experience working in agile teams and managing quality and release of sprint deliverables and how quality checks dovetail into the development process

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences

-Strong attention to detail

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
