EverCharge is a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging devices and management systems and provides hardware and software EV charging solutions for fleets, multi-unit, and single-family homes. Our turnkey offerings are designed to utilize existing infrastructure to scale EV charging at the lowest cost. EverCharge’s load-balancing SmartPower technology maximizes the number of electric vehicles that can charge at once and eliminates barriers, such as data connectivity.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, EverCharge operates a factory in Hayward, CA, which supplies EVSEs for its customers across North America.
Our Senior Quality Engineer:
Will be the Quality champion for the Evercharge Embedded team. Through extensive testing, you will improve our product/solution lineup (EV02, Cabinet, Cove, Glance, SmartPower) and future products/solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software and hardware development teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and design documents.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for embedded systems, covering both software and hardware components.
- Execute gray-box testing, and identify defects or performance issues.
- Ensure we have 100% coverage by creating detailed test cases as new products/features are introduced, requirements are formed and gaps are exposed
- Participate in design reviews and provide valuable input from a quality assurance perspective.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that new features or changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
- Investigate and reproduce customer-reported issues, work with developers to troubleshoot problems, and drive issues to resolution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process enhancement and efficiency gains.
- Mentor and guide junior quality engineers, providing technical leadership and promoting best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in quality assurance and embedded systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of QA experience (will accept 3 years if experience lies within the EV Charging industry)
- Interested in EV ecosystem, wireless mesh networks, and power management.
- Willingness to be onsite most of the week to test chargers at our modern HQ in the heart of Palo Alto.
- Must be flexible to test where needed.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of Confluence, Jira, Github, CLI, AWS (Dynamo, Cloudwatch, etc).
- Excellent time management and can focus in the face of distraction.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to haves:
- Fluency in Mandarin
- Experience with XRay (or similar test case management tool)
- Cucumber/Gherkin [not required but willingness to learn],
- familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
Job Title and Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $160,000, based on full-time employment.
- Actual salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
